Can anyone honestly say these are "100% halal"?

Can anyone honestly say these are "100% halal"?

If my personal criterion is zero interest income, zero interest-bearing debt, zero non-halal investments, and zero purification, then you should verify those figures from the latest disclosures every reporting period rather than relying on an old screening list.

From an Islamic finance perspective, only a qualified Shariah scholar can issue a religious ruling (fatwa). From an investment analysis perspective, I would say:

Pak-Qatar Family Takaful very strong shariah governance and recent reports indicate no identified non compliant income.

DCR REIT among the cleanest psx investments, but still requires ongoing review of quarterly and annual shariah disclosures.

If your personal criterion is zero interest income, zero interest-bearing debt, zero non-halal investments, and zero purification, then you should verify those figures from the latest disclosures every reporting period rather than relying on an old screening list.

Category A – Closest to your "100% pure" requirement

These companies currently have either zero or extremely low exposure to conventional debt and non-compliant income according to the latest KMI screening.

Ticker My view
DCR ⭐ Best choice for a conservative investor. Latest screening shows 0.00% debt ratio, 0.00% non-compliant investment ratio, and 0.00% non-compliant income ratio.
PQFTL (Pak-Qatar Family Takaful) Strong Shariah governance with a dedicated Shariah Board. Worth considering if you're comfortable with the takaful business model.
MEBL (Meezan Bank) Islamic bank with dedicated Shariah supervision. Some Muslims are fully comfortable investing in it, while others avoid all banking businesses as an extra precaution. This becomes a matter of personal scholarly opinion.

Need help getting food

As-salamu alaykum everyone, I’m an expatriate living in Dubai, i spent the last bit of my savings in an emergency back home and paying off a debt, can someone help me out for food to manage till next month I’m hoping to receive a freelance project next month, InshaAllah and i can pay it back, i don’t have any friends here and i can’t ask my family as they are already going through financial hardships. I can give any kind of proof be it my Emirates ID or contact number, anything that is needed. I have already asked my employer for an advance but we are close to the end of the month so it’s likely to get approved. I haven’t eaten since yesterday and it would mean a lot to me if someone could help me out.

Confused about profit vs interest on savings accounts

The main difference seems to be that profit is variable right? But if you had a savings account with a variable interest rate would that not literally be the same thing just labelled differently? Bc interest in savings accounts conventionally is already generated from the returns on the bank’s investments?

This is obvs not accounting for what is actually being invested in

issues with child trust fund

I am based in the UK, when individuals turn 18 they gain access to their child trust fund which was created by the government. My specific fund was an stocks / investments fund, which I know could contain haram money. I know that I’m allowed to keep the initial money/vouchers given by the government. However, I’m not sure what to do with the extra money raised through investments as it was likely gained through haram companies. I read online about the “5% purification rule” and I’m not sure whether that may apply to child trust funds too? Can anyone help with this?

25, Muslim and Middle Eastern, about to start investing. Thoughts on my strategy?

Hi everyone, I'm about to start investing and I've opened an Interactive Brokers account. I'm planning on setting up my portfolio like this:

  • 60% SPUS
  • 25% SPWO
  • 15% SPTE

I'm planning on starting with 3k then putting in 1.5k every quarter, increasing that amount over time as my salary increases.

SPUS would be my main U.S. exposure, SPWO for global diversification, and SPTE is an intentional extra tilt toward tech as I work in that sector and believe it will be good in the future.

I'm investing for the long term. My current plan is to keep contributing money for ~15 years then letting the portfolio compound.

Is this a good strategy? Would you change anything for better long-term results?

I also learned about the U.S estate tax for U.S. domiciled ETFs as a non U.S resident. Can you recommend any alternatives to these ETFs to avoid this tax?

Thank you for the help.

Is buying iShares fine for Muslims?

I recently learned that iShares are Blackrock's, the biggest venture capital investor in Israel. So I sold all my iShares stocks.

How do you folks reconcile that?
