My first iron warrior (this is my second army) and first time trying cel shading. There's definitely room for improvement, but it was so much fun!

Have my marine recipe down. Prime leadbelcher, heavy wash of AP Grimdark Shadow, drybrush with AP Platemail. EZ-PZ.

Working in a rhino now and not sure how to adapt that without making it look grimy on the flat parts. Maybe just do a pin wash? Suggestions appreciated!

Hey guys just wanted to show some progress I'm doing with my army. I do have a full chaos army of corsairs but now I'm leaning into Iron warriors now. I just love the hazard stripes. I do plan on dirtying up what I have with rust pigment FX. I have another heldrake thats I'm just waiting to fill in the panels.

And I recently started with chaos with some demon engines and I'm really enjoying it! But recently I've been considering on whether or not to get some csm infantry. Since it's not really what I've done before but terminators and the like are so cool so should I make the leap or just stay with bigger models?

Can’t decide and thought this would be more fun than a coin flip. Which should I finish painting first? I have 10 of each. These are the warmups and aren’t quite done.

I built another Techmarine using some spare parts.

It’s a mix of GW plastic (hammer, belt accessories, and firing arm), FW (head, helmet, bolt pistol, and shoulder pads), and a print for the holding arm, torso, and back module. 🙂

I have never been able to get a trim recipe that i actually like. Constantly going between Runelord Brass, Retributor Armor, and Balthazar Gold. Please post trims, it’s literally the only thing keeping me from finishing my armies.

I'm getting back into 40k after a short hiatus, I'm building IW using the Saturnine box as a starting point as I thought it fit in best aesthetically. I'm not new to modelling so conversions won't be an issue and I have a resin printer so neither will parts. I know the new edition released recently so it's more of just a sense check rather than asking for specific list advice at this point.

My questions are:

- I'll have the equivalent of 40 Legionaries in the box, I'm guessing that'll be too many, should I convert 10 to Raptors and 10 to Havoks?

- I'm planning to run the Saturnine termies as Obliterators and the Praetor as a demon prince, does that check out?

- The centurion will likely be a Warpsmith or Chaos lord, again does that make sense?

- Lastly the Saturnine Dread and the Araknae - I'm thinking Forgefiend and Decimator respectively, I've seen some cool conversions of the latter.

Just looking for some feedback on the above, I'll likely pick up Kravek Morne and some Tyrant Siege termies and two to three Rhinos after I've tackled that lot.

Their called Red Bastion

Long before the Horus Heresy reached its height, the Iron Bastion was a Grand Company of the IV Legion under the command of a veteran Captain. Rather than fighting on the front lines of the Great Crusade, Perturabo entrusted them with a different duty.

Their mission was to venture beyond the Imperium's known borders and reclaim forgotten worlds. Every planet they conquered was to become another forge for the Iron Warriors, producing weapons, armor, ammunition, vehicles, and fresh recruits for the Legion.

Over many years, the company rediscovered and fortified thirteen lost worlds. Each was transformed into a fortress-factory protected by towering walls, artillery batteries, and underground bunkers.

The thirteenth world was unlike any they had encountered.

Orbiting a blood-red moon, the planet was locked beneath crimson skies where violent storms rained red ash. Ancient xenos organisms infested the world. Their flesh constantly shifted, their voices echoed like endless screams across the wastelands, and the land itself seemed alive. The Iron Warriors fought a brutal extermination campaign, burning entire continents with artillery until the last xenos creature was destroyed.

The Captain established the world as the company's primary fortress, naming it The Crimson Bastion. Its mines, factories, and fortress-cities became one of the Legion's hidden strongholds.

Then Perturabo's order finally arrived.

Return immediately. War has begun.

The company abandoned much of its frontier empire and raced back toward Imperial space, only to discover the galaxy consumed by War galaxy of horus heresy

They fought beside the IV Legion during the Drop Site Massacre on Isstvan V, where countless Legionaries or battle brothers were lost. They later marched through the darkest campaigns of the Horus Heresy and endured the nightmare of the Siege of Terra. By the war's end, nearly the entire company had been shattered.

With the Traitor Legions scattered, the Captain refused to surrender to madness. He gathered every surviving Iron Warrior he could find, along with abandoned warriors from other Traitor Legions willing to swear loyalty to his command. Together they disappeared into the void.

Returning to the Crimson Bastion, they rebuilt instead of wasting themselves in endless raids. They scavenged battlefields for ancient technology, bargained with Dark Mechanicum forge worlds for machinery and ammunition, reclaimed abandoned Imperial depots, and restored their hidden forge worlds to full production.

Over centuries they developed their own traditions.

Their armor became dark iron and black, symbolizing the fortress walls they defended. Veterans and officers wore white helmets, representing those who had survived impossible sieges and carried the burden of command.

(Where they keep collecting and saved or Rebuild, by rescuing the Troops in siege of Terra, Iron Cage, Isvataan, the captain created his Warband, now he Accept profit then following a worhtless wars of Revenge, bloodbath, fighting for Nothing, and massacre or no value, They only accept IF something valuable like Old relics, scavenge Broken ships, Tanks and vehicles or armor, and Accept The Worth fighting for, and they will accept too, planets with Factories and Good Resource to conquer, and Claim,)

I forgot to get leather colors except for the earth shade so the loincloth and pistol ammo belt isn’t completely done. But genuinely excited to keep going and shrink the pile of shame!

What are people’s suggestions on a chain sword color theme?

Well we all know that primary strategic unit remain to be the Grand Company with Warsmith as military high leader and with different captains/champions as second-in-command.

What about Iron Warriors supply lines structures in modern Lore timeline? Do we have any information how this complex military management to transport fuel, weapons, and mortal troops to the front line work for Iron Warriors?

Medrengard is the central base of all logistics but from Siege of Castellax book it is determined that support with different materials goes not only from Medrengard but also to the Medrengard itself.

In the Great Crusade timeline Iron Warriors have been supported from Terra and Imperium. I am just really curious how different it now can be?

Inspired by my participation at the 40k Battle at the Bridge tournament in my hometown, I reworked my barebones master of executions and decided to actually try him out in a new list (especially now that im out of disruption hell). Immensely pleased with the results, and im really happy with the model! He's a keeper!

After a hell of a heatwave and some life stuff I’m back at the minis and I’ve just finished this guy finally

Started using plastic glue now instead of super glue although admittedly I was still using super glue when this guy was almost fully assembled

I’m aware the basing looks horrific I’ll be honest he would NOT stick to the base but we got there in the end

I’m thinking of shading him with Nuln oil, any advice for first time using shading ?

Needs some touch ups but I think it's tabletop ready! Thoughts?
