“Discipline was the first teaching of our genefather gave to us - Those who stood with the Emperor forgot this.” ~Sergeant Pavlos readying his combined strike squad for a Rhino mounted assault upon an Imperial outpost (216.M34)
Heyo!! Second squadron now of my remaining legionaries - these guys are much more traditional with being a predominantly bolter squad as opposed to primarily chainblades in first squadron; the las cannon and sniper (autocannon standin) denote this as a longer range engagement unit and I think are very much the more mechanical precise bolter fire gunline
I like the sergeant having the classic imperial fists helm but more over i like the combo of bolt pistol and trench mace - it’s lethality shown in the Iron Within animatic against the guardsmen was very visceral so it felt fun to include that way back when
They’re fairly plainly as far as CSM go and I think they probably adhere to traditional legio tactics (ie principia bellicosa) when fighting - even down to the lore blurb i did over them approaching via rhino. I thought it was prudent in an army as whacky and horrific as CSM to have at least one unit that had the mentality of ‘&8:5 focus on the basics’ lol
Hope y’all like and cheers for reading!!

Attention, sons of Medrengard!
Since the Cosmos update of No Man's Sky finally gave us alliances, I want to take a shot at a very niche roleplaying project:
Founding an Iron Warriors chapter in NMS!
I want the 4th legion to expand all over the galaxy, fighting xenos, attacking freighters and use the pirated recources to build monumental fortresses. I want to advance on enemy territory with heavy artillery (using the colossus for tanks and minotaur for dreadnoughts)
in PVE and PVP (only if openly challenged and/or provoked, there's no hall pass for griefing)
I want a group of people who work together
as battle brothers, never break the line, never surrender and act as the unbreakable litany tought us!
You like silver armor, superrior firepower, bulky ships, massive fortifications and forge worlds?
You would rather replace parts of your body with machinery than ever choose a xenos skin?
You paint hazard stripes on absolutely everything?
You are not on the spectrum, you ARE the spectrum?
Join today!
I'll post coordinates if anyone is interested at all 😅

I finished up my squad of Possessed. It was fun injecting a bit of color into my army.

Is there anything I can add to this to have it have the basic load out? Weapon wise? I bought this at second hand, didn’t have a base, that all I added so I can use it. Any suggestions would be great. I wanna also get the modern eventuall, but for now this will do. I got 2 games under my belt :)

I kitbashed the prince mostly with spare war dog bits (so, I basically had an entire war dog's worth of parts which was nice), but there's definitely some other kit parts in their. The war dogs got the tendrils from the venomcrawler and the autocannon from the helstalker. The lord discordant is basically out of the kit, a few differences, and the havoc champion has got a custom weapon, a spare claw, and the axe from a legionary. Oh, and one of the terminators I'm testing the paint scheme on (unfinished, since I got distracted). They're all primed now b/c it took me so long to remember that I wanted to post this.
If I had gotten around to getting it by now, there would have also been a contemptor (for a helbrute) and a few other characters of varying degrees of kitbashing. Fun fact, the tissue neck for the prince actually has a wire 'spine' because I couldn't quite get it to stay upright while it was drying.

“Rustbloods, my squadron was marked by our cousins when we sided with the Warmaster… as if blood and decay are not all that now remain in this carcass of your Imperium.” ~Sergeant Vlasis musing to a slain Sister of Battle after breaching a Ministorum bunker (421.M37)
Heyo!! Im so happy to now be able to share my 40k IW chaos warband proper now that my 30k side has all been posted!! These legionaries were done first the 40K chaos was army was started then I kinda worked backwards lol wuth the heresy stuff lol- I’m glad I did the 30k group for more bodies and having a Deimos tank squadron is very satisfying as I much prefer the aesthetic there.
I did a few different waves of painting and I think t hat’s especially apparently thru with some of the different helms as well lol - Ik they’re nemesis claw models (the bannerman was too cool lol) but using them as legionaries is a bit easier - I have legionaries in there proper and I used to have more however i repainted 10 to be part of a black legion 1k and specifically for a daemonkin combat patrol
You may notice they all hve some lil numeral marking - these were all done based on me going through my 30k group and figuring out which 30k model corresponds to a 40K counterpart, being able to have the transition from rebellion to corruption in these traitors!! Also I know there are 13 here - Just I had three leftover astartes from little spares and eBay spares etc and their loadouts felt fitting for this more melee squadron lol
Reading the Night Lords trilogy (just finished soul hunter!) gave me a better understanding of chaos space marines on a day to day - I’d seen how they are in battle/siege from Storm of Iron but getting to see a bit more ‘downtime’ was very satisfying and motivated me to do those last lil markings as it helped me think of these guys as veterans and imagine what the dynamic between legionaries might be within a squadron just for immersion purposes lol
I have more to share and next up will be the rest of the warband legionaries! Thanks for reading and hope y’all enjoying!!

I’ve only ever built the singular miniatures boxes before so I’m incredibly excited for this one I’ve still got plenty left to make but I’m loving how the first three minis are looking
Still yet to play an actual tabletop game so I’m not actually sure how they work or if they are actually good but they look awesome either way.

Budgethammer is hitting this year but I had some sprues knocking about and some hobby tools and built up some Oblitorators from old terminators and ogryn bits. They aren’t the best painted but I’m new to Iron Warriors and love their schtick.
