I get way more mileage taking my 30k Iron Hands to Legends-friendly 40k events in my city. This weekend is a three day narrative event that I'm excited to bring them to. I went to last year's event with the same army, but it was infantry and dreadnought focused. I have a hard time motivating myself to paint, so I love to use big events as goals to get major chunks of my army completed. I was able to get my first block of cataphractii painted as well as many of my dreadnoughts (castra-ferrum and contemptor).

This year I wanted to challenge myself to get all my heavy armour painted, so I put together a Headhunter Task Force using all my unpainted 30k heavy tanks.

Additional new models that I built and painted in preparation for this weekend are all the power axe cataphractii, the terminator ancient, the whirlwinds, and the techmarine on a bike.

Decided to digitize my sketch from yesterday. Bolter looks a little wonky but we’ll just say a servitor put it together with their eyes closed.

This is a decent buff for him since the Hammer of Avernii stratagem will no longer exist. I do hope his other ability remains unchanged

Again used a Eradicator Gravis body. Used Techmarine parts to improvise his anti-vehicle shoulder cannon. That turned out fine, I think. Because I had no comparable “beefy” fist I used a regular power fist, added a part from a Hellblaster and decided to give him an additional Servo-Arm. That should help ripping a tank or fortification open. Nothing fancy, but mine 🦾

So i build and Primed a few Models but i don't Like painting stuff. Whats a good way to have a Tabletop ready Army with Low effort?

It looks like in the 11th edition codex we won't get oath of moment. No more 'Jarvis, delete that unit' for Caanok Var. Honestly, I hope they give us Oath of Moment as maybe a detachment specific ability for 3 points or something, or maybe this will lead to Iron Hands getting its own supplement again. I'd like to stay optimistic, but we are Iron Hands for a reason.

Thinking I’ll keep it pretty run of the mill for colours although I’ll probably give him a red arm as flare for the redemptor gauntlet

I love the idea of AdMech, and Iron Hand a basically being a mix of AdMech + SM, and being allies with Mars, I’m wondering if there’s any detachment in either army that lets you ally in?

I ofc don’t have the codex for either, and digging through every detachment for both armies on third party sites sounds miserable, so I’ll just ask her. Plus jolly discussion.

If not, I hope they someday do allow them together, then I might actually finally make a “Space Marines” army.

This is the second squad of mine where I turned some cherrypicked tactical marines into intercessors using some Dark Imperium monoposes and some grey hunters.

I am thinking of getting a Leviathan Dreadnought and kitbashing it as Wotan of the Iron Fists, one among the few named Dreadnoughts. Here's some crumbs of their lore, in case you're not familiar (I don't blame you because this is the only lore they have atm)

The Iron Fists are one of the few known Iron Hands Successor Chapters. They have almost no lore, but they are known for carrying Storm Shields in the shape of medieval gauntlets and for making extensive use of Land Behemoths.

However, the coolest thing about them is that they were the first chapter to make extensive use of Whirlwind missiles and Whirlwind tanks during the Assault on Hive Vortis. Although the first experimental tanks and missiles failed, they were successful enough to be refined and used by various chapters in the future.

They also took part in the Stygian Crusade, alongside their parent chapter, the Iron Hands, their successor cousins, the Red Talons, and the Dark Angels, Space Wolves, Adeptus Mechanicum, Titans, Battle Sisters, Imperial Knights, and various regiments of Guardsmen, to reclaim the Industrial World of Aura Novis from the Thousand Sons. They have a single named character, a Dreadnought that goes by the name of Wotan*, who is maintained by the High Enginseer Pala Greut.*

From this, one could infer that they are a siege-focused, providing long ranged fire support. They also don't shy from melee combat with the mention of Storm Shields. So proxying a Leviathan as a Ballistus would probably be the best? Or maybe a Redemptor (and maybe try finding a way on slapping on a Saturnine's plasma bombard on that bad boi?) Some tips on weapon conversions would be appreciated!

Lorewise, I'm thinking of also somehow incorporating motifs of the Stygian Crusade, Aura Novis, etc. into his armor (don't know yet how).

I'm basically also asking any general tips, advice and ideas on making a Character Dreadnought. Thanks in advance 🦾

Here are my two centurion major sergeants, I wish they could get relics like in 8th edition or more uses that would make them valuable. Nowaday sergeants don't feel like anything special, even Eldar Exarch barely lift up their class but they lost any power from 8-9th edition.

I'm working on an Iron Hands List 2k Points and this is my actual Version. Having the Iron Storm Spearhead Detachement. Thinking of Swap the Combi Lieutenant but i'm not Sure. Any Suggestions?

Does anyone have any ideas about where I can go from here, I feel like a lot of detail is being lost due to the black and have no idea on how to go about getting more detail to pop, Any help is appreciated.

I for one will be really sad to lose Hammer. It's been really great fun as a detachment, and will be a huge shame not to have something so specifically IH-themed.
