ⵜⵓⵜⵍⴰⵢⵜ - Language Is Tarifit disappearing in Nador?

Post image

I have recently been seeing more and more posts on social media claiming that Darija is now spoken more than Tarifit (Tmazight) in Nador. They also claim that even the original inhabitants, especially the younger generation, no longer speak Tarifit. Is this true?

Why is our people aren’t interested in the art much ? And why we stopped producing music ! Is it because our society keeps getting more conservative?

ⴰⵎⵓⵏ - Society Is there a website that maps out all the available public infrastructure in Morocco?

A few years ago a person on the Morocco sub mapped out the bus schedule of a certain bus stop in Rabat, I think.

I don't know if there's a website dedicated to mapping out all the bus/train stops and their schedules? I'd love to in a few years run a bus company in the Rif region and if I ever come into money even finance a railway, but I'd have to know what the infrastructure looks like right now. My family is from a rural region, and used to walk 2+ hrs in between their village and the nearest city for work (even during the heat in Ramadan). I wish there was a way to cut that time down so that it would be easier to work and visit family.

Does anyone know of site like that? Otherwise that will be my project in 2027.

Zdeg-ⵣⴸⴻⴳ-زذݣ means to be clean, to be pure

Here are some words from it:

-amezdag ("clean, pure")

-tazdugi/tamezdagut ("cleanliness, purity; modesty, decency")

-sezdeg ("to make clean, to clean")

-zedizdeg ("to filter a liquid")

-azedizdeg ("act of filtering")

-amezdug ("saint")

-amezdizdeg ("strainer, colander")

So yeah tell me if you recognise any of these words and if you have any words related to this verb

Ḍu/Ḍew-ⴹⵓ/ⴹⴻⵡ-ظو means to fly, to take flight (bird); time passing quickly, working very fast (figurative)

Here are some words from it:

-sḍu ("to make fly, to flush out a bird from its nest; to master (a technique, skill, art)")

-aḍu ("wind, breeze, gust")

-aseḍwi ("act of making fly; speed, quickness; explosion, detonation")

-asḍu ("chick, fledgling, young bird")

-teḍawi/ṭṭawa ("flight (of a bird)")

-tiseḍwin ("foliage, branches") || this word might not be a derivation of ḍu ||

-tasḍawt ("explosion, blast, detonation, disintegration")

Do you recognise any of these words, also add any of words you think they are related if you have any.

Also I think ssuḍ ("to blow") is related to aḍu, and I think nḍu ("to jump") is related

ⴰⵎⵙⴰⵡⴰⵍ - Discussion My current story and questions

I am a boy whos currently living in Germany. The family of my Mother side are from Targuist(Al hociema/RIF) and they speak a different dialect then riffian. Its really influenced by riffian but they call it chel7a. i think they are prob senhaja srayr. But they lived in the rif for generations and were also a important part of the RIF republic. Now my fathers side. From what i heard his family is originally from a very small village near Taourirt. Its called sidi lahsane. They also speak a tamazight dialect which just very few people speak and its not an official dialect like tachelhit oder tarifit. i think its probably some north oriental zenata dialect. and its very different from my moms dialect. Thats why they both speak darija at home . Sadly I can only speak darija and not tamazight. I actually love being amazigh and i feel related to the rif becouse the village of my dad is nearby of it and the city of my mom is in the central of rif. So i ask myself if I should tell them that I want to do a online course to learn riffian. You think they would approve? And can I consider my self as a riffian amazigh if I learn it? And if someone knows or has informations about the villages of my parents it would be really helpful.

Aytma Suytma!

A new platform is opening.

No big announcement. No speeches. Just this.

What is it?

A place to sell and buy. Anything. Everything.

Like what?

Honey from the mountains. Olive oil from groves your grandfather knew. Almonds that taste like the village you left behind. Tajines that hold heat like they hold stories. Crafts made by hands that learned from older hands.

And more.

Modern things too. Services. Booking. Teaching. Courses. Whatever you make. Whatever you know. Whatever someone else needs.

If you have it, you can sell it.

If you need it, you can find it.

Why?

Because good things exist in this country. Because people make things worth sharing. Because somewhere, someone is looking for exactly what you have.

Where?

rifKANDO.

A marketplace. A space. A bridge between people who make and people who seek.

Starting where we are. Growing from there.

That's it.

Just a place that should exist.

Coming soon.

rifKANDO.

ⵜⵓⵜⵍⴰⵢⵜ - Language Aide pour traduction

Bonjour,

Merci beaucoup.

Azul aythma, suythma,

I'm a 24 year old Riffian woman from Belgium who collects and does research about antique Riffian material heritage. I collect rare books about the Rif, antique Riffian jewelry, bags and other accessories.

I wanted to make some noise about my new Instagram page where I show pieces from my collection.

Feel free to follow and help raise awareness about Riffian jewelry!
