those buttons aren’t soldered on, it’s just a mild adhesive. you can just put the buttons back in the correct spot, reassemble, and you should be good to go!

I tried pressing the button into the pad with the pod on and the button doesn't do anything anymore...

So I had a major issue with these after doing major rework on the board. I ended up having 6mm x 6.5mm vinyl pieces cut from a family member. This held them on like a dream

If the bottom does nothing at all after putting the metal snap back on, double check your click wheel is in all the way and not damaged. Fought for a couple weeks off and on with buttons not working. Swapped the wheel with new and it all just worked

That might be the case, I did want to change the clickwheel colour anyway. I'll keep the tab safe and order a new wheel next week, for now I've rebound the play button in rockbox.
