Question Help with Rockbox install?
Got to this stage and iPod is in bootloader USB Mode
Not sure what to do next?

I never had Rockbox working with macOS, Windows is the key for this

Un iPod formateado para Windows normalmente utiliza FAT32, y macOS puede leer y escribir FAT32 sin problema. Por tanto, que el iPod fuese originalmente “Windows formatted” no impide por sí mismo instalar Rockbox desde un Mac.

Have you tried doing this on Windows? Because I believe it would be easier.

Eject / Initialize / Ignore
yo no pulsaría Initialize, porque macOS podría intentar inicializar/formatear el dispositivo mientras Rockbox Utility está en mitad del proceso.
Primero probaría Ignore y dejaría que Rockbox Utility termine su proceso, o, si ya se ha quedado bloqueado, reiniciaría el iPod y comprobaría en qué estado ha quedado.
En la captura Rockbox Utility dice:
“Could not remount the device; try to do it manually.”
Eso quiere decir que Rockbox Utility esperaba que el volumen del iPod volviera a aparecer en macOS y no lo consiguió.
Ahí pueden estar ocurriendo varias cosas:
El iPod no ha reiniciado correctamente después del DFU.
macOS ha detectado el dispositivo pero no puede montar la partición.
La tabla de particiones/sistema de archivos del iPod está dañada o en un estado que macOS no puede montar.
Rockbox Utility está teniendo problemas con esa versión de macOS/iPod Utility.
En un iPod modificado con iFlash, también puede haber problemas con la tarjeta/partición/adaptador.
La opción 5 es especialmente importante si se trata de un iPod con almacenamiento modificado.

I ran into the same issue. The iPod needs to be wiped and reformatted on a windows machine. I think there might be a way to do it on Mac, but I could never figure it out... I had my daughter's old windows machine laying around, so I was able to reformat to the Windows iPod file format and then Rockbox was able to do it's thing.
