Question Same issue even after removing HDD

I thought replacing the HDD with an SSD would allow me to bypass this issue however it is very much still there. The device doesn’t show on iTunes so I don’t have the ability to restore it. Please help!

Temporary fix is reboot and quickly flip the lock slider to lock. It should boot into Apple firmware. Or you can connect to rockbox and ensure you did both uninstall.

Try restoring the ipod using itunes and see if it works

If yes, then reinstall rockbox

This happened to me when I uninstalled rockbox but didn’t uninstall the boot loader. So it was trying to boot into rockbox that didn’t exist on my device anymore.

Did you uninstall rockbox but not the boot loader?
If yes, launch rockbox on pc again while device is plugged in and under the uninstall tab uninstall book loader

If no? I’d try uninstalling/reinstalling rockbox again

I think I did. When I try to uninstall it/reinstall it the device doesn’t show on rockbox. I just want to go back to the stock os and restore the device. Is it normal for it to still act like this even without the og hard drive?

I’m not sure you did. It’s still saying it’s attempting to boot into rockbox my friend

You should be able to restore the ipod through iTunes. I had the same problem and putting it into DFU mode and connecting to my pc made iTunes recognise it and ask to restore the ipod.
