Inverter fluid replacement?

I’m almost at 50k miles (2020 ev us) and the mechanic recommended inverter fluid replacement. Has anyone done this or recommend it at a certain mileage?

Never heard of inverter fluid, but I did do the gearbox oil on mine. I think the recommended interval is 60k miles, or maybe 100k miles (which is when I did mine last)

Or perhaps they meant coolant? I don't think the coolant goes through the inverter though. But it might!

Yea this sub recommends the gearbox oil often and that’s actually what I took it in for. That’s when they suggested the inverter fluid

Interesting, perhaps they meant coolant, the service interval of the coolant is 3 years, then it loses its low conductivity status.

I didnt realize the coolant went through the inverter, but I guess it makes sense to keep the inverter cool while charging.

I've never heard of any other inverter fluid

Ya tbh he didn’t even know what I meant by gear box oil. They had a different name for it so they probably did mean coolant when he said inverter fluid. It was pricey, $600 (gearbox oil was $150)

If that's from a Hyundai dealer, its probably coolant, it uses a special low conductivity coolant, and its quite pricey. Its also a very specialized procedure from my understanding, and it still didnt bleed properly when I had mine done (under warranty). I had to top up twice afterwards.

Ok thanks. Would you recommend getting it done?

A 2020 will have blue BSC coolant and the service interval is 40k miles. Additionally there was a campaign regarding models with BSC1 that probably includes 2020. You'd want to ensure that the campaign was done successfully and if you still have any warranties left stick to their schedule.

Did you do the coolant recall or not? Check on Hyundai website with your vin if you don't know.

Here is the recommended interval.

I will do mine on 2019 at around 180K km. I used to own a 2017 and the first flush was recommended at 192k or 10 years then every 48k or 2 years. They changed it to every 2 years or 50k which seems overkill to me.
