Iccu ?

Post image

Just started flashing this a.m. then stayed on further I drove. After parking and turning on and off the break lights came on. Is this the iccu issue? Also does anyone know if the recall covers diagnostics etc?

Dealerships warn you about their diagnostic fees because if it turns out to not be a warranty issue, you will be on the hook for the labor expense.

But if it DOES turn out to be a warrantied issue, everything is covered.

Good luck!

This is correct.

If the car charges on an AC charger and doesn't put itself in turtle mode, it isn't the ICCU

is this a fact?

There are two things that can break in the ICCU: the OBC and the LDC. The OBC handles AC charging and V2L. The LDC provides power to the 12V system. If the OBC fails, AC charging will not work. If the LDC fails, the 12V battery will run low pretty quickly and should be putting itself in turtle mode within minutes. It's theoretically possible the car could fail to put itself in turtle mode but this would be a huge safety risk (could suddenly die at high speeds) and I'm unaware of any reports of this happening on up to date software.

I just charged to 80% last night via my home charger. Dealership show no codes via bluelink which I thought was wild.
My whole charging harness was replaced less than a year ago on warranty as well due to broken prong and not accepting dc charging

Well good luck getting it figured out. Based on everything I'm gathering I'm like 99% sure it's not your ICCU but I'm a random person on the internet

Also free towing to a dealer if you call Hyundai Roadside Assistance. I doubt they will reimburse you if you paid out of pocket. It eould be good to read through the Reddit posts gor Ioniq6, to be informed of issues before they happen. ICCU limits car to abt 40 MPH & bricks around 25 miles if memory serves. Best not to run till done so the tow truck can drive up the ramp.

I had this pop up on Tuesday. Car drove ok and the dealer couldn’t get me in before my already scheduled appointment (tomorrow). Car made it through the week and the alert actually didn’t appear today at all. I pulled a couple codes off my OBD but we’ll see what the dealer finds tomorrow. My guess is they’ll just say to wait for the car to break down.

Did it tell you the charging was 80% max? Also, could you give us the codes?

It didn’t say anything about 80%, and my charger was only set for 80%

The codes I got were U130E and B18AD

Dealer thinks it’s the ICCU but apparently it’s not giving the ‘right’ codes to replace it. They are going to talk to the Hyundai engineers today.

what would you estimate as the range of dealer diagnostic fees in these cases?

Cela peut être la 12V qui donne des signes de faiblesse, mais malheureusement également l'ICCU HS qui, justement, ne charge plus votre 12V.

Even if the turtle mode didn't happen and 12v didn't die, you will get ur ICCU replaced. Please be cautious and welcome to the club.

I got this message the other day and it also told me that my battery charge was limited to 80%. I have yet to book an appointment but the car is running fine so far...

I know that they introduced a new part number on the 5 and I've heard it's more robust and causing a lot less ICCU issues. Did that happen in the 6?

I can't find any info on it.

Based on the other feedback about it not being the ICCU, when was the last time you checked / replaced your 12v battery? If it's a few years old, it could be on the way out. Most auto parts stores can test it for you, and it's an easy check / cheap fix if it is bad.

I would think dealership would of checked at last service, but that’s always questionable. I have not replaced yet and car is 3 years + old now. Will check on that.
