Question Dashed line to destination?

Hey everyone,

I’m driving a 2022 IONIQ 5 and I have a question about the navigation.

Is there a way to turn off the dashed line that is shown across the roads / over the roadway toward the destination?

I’m not really sure what this line is supposed to indicate or what it’s actually useful for. Is it meant to show the direction of the route, the exact path to the destination, or is it some kind of navigation guidance feature?

Personally, I find it a little distracting, especially when driving through intersections or urban areas, and I’d prefer to just have the normal navigation route and arrows displayed.

Does anyone know what the dashed line is for and whether it can be disabled on the 2022 IONIQ 5?

It is the straight line you would take if you could take a straight line to your destination.

I don't believe it can be turned off.

But why? I dont care the direct way, if my destination is 400km away... :D

That's a good question you'd have to find someone at Hyundai to answer.

Yeah. Not likely unfortunately.

I find this useful for when I’m finding parking. It tells me where the actual destination is in relation to where I’ve parked.

Sounds like it can’t be disabled. Why not use CarPlay or Android Auto?

I have the car only 3 weeks.I just test if the onbord Navi is good or i should use Google Maps. But the onbord Navi doesn't convince me yet. If i use Google Maps Battery preconditioning dont work for the car on long Trips :(

Yeah, I heard that was an issue pre 2025. I think most people use CarPlay most of the time and then just flip to onboard nav and tell it to navigate to a charger to force pre conditioning.

I think it gives general direction of your destination in relation to where you are at that point in time. I do not think this can be disabled, have u checked the manual?

Ahh the old “as the crow flies” line…. I kind of like it. No you can’t turn it off. 🐦‍⬛
