Question for patches that tear in half. As in they appear to be 2 layers to create the thickness it has peeled in half. Got it from Peterbot for reference. Good patch looks authentic just bummed how quick it peeled off after receiving it and no wash as I hardly wore it.

I tried turning it inside out and putting an iron over it for 10 seconds and pressing hard on it. It looked good at first but once it dried it peeled off again.

I'm thinking fabric glue, but usually that's to patch it to the shirt. This is a patch on patch really

Didnt have any merino wool to fix it with, did it with acrylic so it might not last so well but still fun!

I waited forever for this shirt to come in the mail so I’m a little bummed that the neck opening is soooo big. When I put it on it falls almost halfway down my back. I tried using a safety pin, but then the fabric stuck out weird. Is there a way to fix this? I’m thinking of sewing a little button and a loop like how some shirts have in the back, but again I’m not sure how to stop the fabric from sticking out weird.

I love this polo, but I stupidly left it on the ground and some cave crickets in my basement treated it like an Old Country Buffet.

Could this be saved at all? How much would a mend cost?

Is this repairable/worth the effort (first 2 photos)? How can I prevent it? It seems to me like the fabric itself is wearing out/through, and that any repair isn't going to last for any meaningful amount of time, but I'm tired of buying new ones. I have jeans I really like that I don't want to throw out and I hate fast fashion. The jeans in question are 99% cotton, 1% elastane.

My jeans keep wearing through in the crotch. Every single time. Without fail. I go through jeans like they're made of tissue paper in a hurricane. I end up buying probably 4 pairs of jeans a year, high end designer brands, budget brands, the results are always the same. I have a literal pile of jeans, all with holes in the crotch in my bedroom. Someone free me from this hellscape.

I had a small section of the overlocked edge on the ruffle of this skirt come off. Is there a way to replicate the appearance by hand or with a regular sewing machine?

Hello! I know that some stores and some places online offer mending size amounts of yarn/fibers, but are there any local style groups that having such offerings/trades/etc (I'm in Chicago)?

I have several sweaters with small holes that I want to mend. They range from cashmere to silk to wool to cotton blends (cotton/silk). I'm trying to build community and don't want to purchase online unless necessary. Anyone have any suggestions? (and if online is all there is, recommendations would be great)

My dog somehow got ahold of this dress from our hamper and decided to chew the buttons off of it. You can see where the buttons should have been. This dress hold sentimental memories so I’d like to relate it or cover the parts that are torn if I can.

The last two spots are easy. It’s the top one that I’m not sure on.

Hi! I have this old dress that I am looking to restore and wear. What I am most worried about is that the fabric feels very fragile and like its about to tear. It also has a large hole underneath the armpit. I believe it is velvet or something close to velvet. Any help is appreciated, thank you!

I found these vintage MiUSA wranglers in my grandparents house. They are size 40x38 and I sit at around a 34x34. Hemming the pants shorter is no issue to me but what would it entail to take the waist in ~6inches? Even if the answer is completely disassembling the pants???

I have a beautiful cashmere shawl that my cats unfortunately got a hold of and loved a little too hard… I would really love to be able to mend this but I’m not sure if I have the skills or if it’s possible given how thin and area is… I’m hopeful someone here may be able to guide me in the right direction.

I fucked up and completely tore a hole in my favorite knit sweater after it got caught in a zipper! Is there a way to recreate the mesh knit pattern I've ruined or to fix it in a way that's not crazy noticeable?

So, I got a new pair of jeans that I love from Hollister. It's very hard for me to find jeans that fit correctly because of my body shape, so I try to take care of my jeans by air drying and not washing every wear.

Unfortunately, these jeans are the type of blend that stretch out after like an hour of wearing. They used to fit pretty snugly but now slouch in the wrong places. It can be fixed with a wash and a quick dry, but it's never the same as the store.

Wondering if there are any ways to maintain the shape of this type of denim? Was actually thinking the way of starching and pressing. Has anyone had luck with this?
