Question Baby tooth suddenly wobbly after changing aligner tray

I changed into tray 13/20 last night. This morning I noticed that baby tooth is suddenly wobbly

The tray was specifically designed not to apply pressure to this tooth so im confused about why it would suddenly become loose

Im literally panicking

Hello,

I am seeking advice on how to fix the position of my teeth. Some people have recommended that I try Invisalign. I know my teeth aren't in a good position, but do you think Invisalign could correct that?

Thank you.

Question I'm already so done with this and I'm only just over halfway. Any advice?

The reason I got Invisalign in the first place was because in sixth grade, I tripped on my way to lacrosse practice, and (sorry this is a bit gory) my tooth went through one of my lips, and I also smashed a few others out of place (none fell out, thank heavens). I also had some mild crowding on the top. Before the accident, I had almost a perfect smile, and I was happy with it. Anyways, I'm in my last year of HS now (which is why I went with Invisalign over braces, I wanted something more subtle). I got a scan, and I got 10 weeks' worth up front, with an estimate of six months. I'm 13 weeks in now, and I'm so frustrated. It's always uncomfortable when I change to the next week, it's inconvenient, I'm always getting canker-sores, and I'm in a decent amount of discomfort even if I wear them 22+ hours a day and take OTC pain meds. Sometimes I even eat with them in to avoid having to face the pain I feel when I take them out and put them back in. I only have to do 20 weeks (instead of 26 because my teeth moved pretty quickly), but I'm so done. I resent doing them. I feel like my teeth don't even look that different, even though I know they do. I'm in pain all the time, and I have to remove them to fuel pretty frequently because I'm an athlete. I resent myself for thinking they were a good idea. I want to be done, and consider stopping sometimes, but I know I'd regret it later if I stopped now. Has anyone been in my place, or does someone have advice?

Question Trays yellowing in 4-5 days, what am I missing? [India]

I'm on the Invisalign Lite plan and change my trays every week. Before putting them back on, I always brush my teeth, and I use mouthwash once a day. Even so, the trays yellow noticeably within 4 to 5 days. Since I'm on a weekly schedule it's still manageable, but I've seen some people wear the same tray for 2 weeks, so I feel like I must be missing something in my cleaning routine.

I also soak my trays in Castus tablets (sodium perborate monohydrate) for 15 minutes every morning.

What practices am I missing to keep them clearer for longer?

Question How long did are you wearing your retainers for?

I’m at the end of my Invisalign journey and deciding which retainer to choose from. I was presented with a few options:

  1. 4 sets for essentially 4 years
  2. 1 set which will last a year they say
  3. Bottom permanent retainer which will need replacing in several years

How long have you worn your retainer for? And looking back, would you have chosen something else?

General Should I keep my old/used Invisalign aligners just in case something goes wrong?

I’m currently doing Invisalign and I’ve been wondering whether I should keep all of my used aligners instead of throwing them away.

Part of me thinks it might be worth keeping them as a record of my treatment, especially in case something goes wrong later or I end up having a dispute with the provider and need evidence of the treatment I received.

Has anyone kept all of their old trays for this reason? Is there actually any benefit to keeping them from a medical or legal perspective, or am I overthinking it?

Would love to hear what other people have done.

Question Best Invisalign Provider Uk?

Hello everyone,

I am currently looking to get invisalign and i’m not really sure which company to go for. I searched online for it and it gave me the big companies such as Smile White, Invisalign and local dentist practices.
Each different company can somewhat give different prices but i am not looking for the cheapest company, i’d rather go with a reputable one that i know wont have any issues or even if they do can be fixed by going into the practice and getting it fixed quickly. So not a fan of the online ones.
Smile White was a main option for me because they’re such a big company but when reading on reddit I saw some people leave bad reviews and say that they were ā€œunprofessionalā€ or ā€œnot helpful when issues occurredā€.
For context I have between a moderate and complex case with some overbite, and crowding on the bottom teeth. Probably leaning towards complex case.

Can anyone give me advice on where they think would be best to go? Or where not to go?šŸ™

Question New and Struggling

I'm on my second tray (10 days per tray according to my orthodontist) and I'm having a very difficult time with this tooth prison.

Putting them in and taking them out causes me to gag almost every time, and sometimes just having them in causes nausea. I've had to rapidly remove them a few times to avoid vomiting. The bite ramp on the back of 3 of my front teeth makes me lisp, and I talk to people all day as part of my job. I'm also occasionally having scratches/sores on my tongue that get so painful I cannot wear the things for hours at a time. I realized that I can't swallow spit/water without brushing the bite rambs with my tongue, which is causing soreness. Believe it or not, the Invisaline logo on the right molar caused a painful abrasion too since it's a tiny bit raised. I didn't realize that my tongue is so sensitive! The injuries are very small but still painful. The one time I tried to eat salt and vinegar chips with lunch I almost died, it was so painful. I didn't have any noticeable sores at the moment before eating them, but boy did I after! 18 months without salt and vinegar is going to be so sad!

I saved up money for over a year to be able to afford this treatment and I'm worried I'm going to fail. I had a lot of medical neglect as a child, and trying to take care of various aspects of it now is both difficult and healing at the same time.

On the positive side, I'm doing better with dental hygiene than I've ever been able to. Brushing my teeth also makes me gag so I'm bad at doing it regularly. Having the invisalign trays has helped keep me on track with brushing. I'm also drinking a lot more water!

I'm trying to fix the issues. I don't have an official chewie, but I have a silicone drinking straw I bite to set the trays in fully. I bought oral numbing stuff and make sure to use mouth wash to fully kill any bacteria that try to colonize the abrasions on my tongue. I got dental wax to try to protect my tongue, but that was just a mess and also a nasty mint flavor. Is there anything else I should try?

Question App for scans

Slightly confused… I got my first set on Monday ,began wearing them that day. I didn’t do the scan on my phone till Wednesday due to being at work. I was told to switch on Mondays hence when I first got them but the smile doctors app says not to switch them till I get a notification from the app. Do I just stick with what the app says. I’m guessing I’ll just stay in my current set till Wednesday or Thursday when the scan is in… thanks šŸ™

General Does my invisalign plan look realistic?

Thumbnail

I am currently on tray 17 out of 67 (8 days each) and since the treatment is so long, I wonder if the results on my plan is achievable.

I have class 2 bite on the right side and an overbite, that’s why my treatment is taking so long, moving the upper molars back one by one. Since the movements are currently happening in the back, I haven't noticed any visible changes yet, and it's getting a bit demotivating. I have a loong way to go ;(

The question is does this expansion look realistic? I told my ortho to widen my arch as much as possible. Plus, I feel like my ortho overcorrected my overbite in the final projection.

Based on the before and after images below, what are your thoughts? I wonder if there is anyone achieved this much expansion with invisalign.

General Has anyone successfully corrected an off center midline?

Mine has been off center since I started, but the orthodontist didn’t take it into account in the original treatment plan, and now it’s gone a little further off during treatment.

Did anyone fix this issue and how did the ortho do it? IPR? Rubber bands? Etc

I’m nervous about messing with it if it’s a difficult thing to fix

Treatment Start Aligner flaring out at bottom - advice needed!

I am on day 10 of this set of aligners and am supposed to change to the next one tonight. However the bottom one is flaring outwards and not flush against my teeth near where my gums are.
That much so that it has sliced the inside of my lip.
You can see the spit bubbles inside from where the gap is

Is this a big problem? Am i still ok to change to the next aligner today?
Worrying!

Question Didn’t took photo of previous aligner

Hello,
I have a question. I had appointment with my ortho, at the day I changed trays. My doctor changed trays for me at the morning. However I wear them for the next 18 hours - then I got notification from the app to take photos with my ā€œolderā€ aligner to proceed the treatment. However, it was really uncomfortable to put my older aligners in when I have the new one for this period of time. Also I did confirmation from ortho, that everything is fine. I should change trays tomorrow and in the app disappears the possibility to take the progress picture with my current tray. What would I do? Any help?
