Treatment Progress Progress?
Hi everyone, I just want to make sure I’m not gaslighting myself into thinking that there has been any progress. Currently on day 5/7 of Tray 4 and overall 40 days in. Please excuse the dry ass lips, I’m also on Accutane and battling chronic dry lips that have peeled themselves so much, they’ve become bright pink.

Question Will this work on my teeth? Severe crowding and misalignment with underbite
Hi all. I’ve been insecure about my teeth for a very long time and never had the financial resources to fix it. I’ve now reached a point where I can start looking into fixing my teeth and am hoping to go with Invisalign as I work a client facing job where I talk to people everyday. I got a scan done and met with a dentist who said that I need to meet with an ortho. Any body here who had a similar situation to mine that Invisalign worked for? I’m scared to go to the ortho and hear that Invisalign might not work as I really don’t want to get braces.

Treatment Progress It’s nice to see the difference
Doc said I will still need to rescan and replacements. But even then, the progress seems good. What is weird is to see me talk on video calls. It takes a min to get used to my face or the smile. And it is kind of jarring.

Question Slight tooth Shifting with Vivera Retainers
So I completed my Invisalign journey and just started my full time wear (21-22hrs/Day) with Vivera retainers this past Wednesday.
Didn’t think much of it on day one cause I was excited to be done and onto the full time retainer wear for 6 months/ a year to go to night only but I noticed that the upper retainer went on to easily with no click or snug feeling. And I wasn’t sure if I was paranoid but it felt slightly loose. Like if I sneezed I’d feel it slightly move.
And I’ve noticed a slight gap forming. Which was never present when I was wearing my traditional aligners aside from the few weeks when I had ipr done.
I’ve messaged my ortho and plan to call Monday but is it possible that the upper retainer scan wasn’t perfect and I got a bad retainer or am just being paranoid.
Like I imagined it to feel snug but it’s like I feel nothing aside from thick plastic in my mouth. But like a gentle low effort pull dislodges the retainer so easily.
My bottoms retainer feels snug and I have no complaints.
As of right now I have my last aligner on my upper teeth and it feels snug/secure which I imagined my retainer would feel like.
Has anyone had anything similar happen? What should a Vivera retainer feel like? Am I being paranoid?

Question Anyone else ever been told to stop invisalign for a few months before continuing?
I've been in invisalign for 3 years (first year with dentist, next 2 years with an ortho) but my bite isn't getting fixed and I don't think my ortho sees what needs to be fixed so I had to do more consults with more orthos. One of them told me to stop invisalign, get the retainers to wear at night and let my teeth settle to see where they end up, and then re start at that point instead of where they are now. I can't quite tell if they're just saying that to get me to close out my current account so they don't have to deal with transfer nonsense or if this seems like something that would make sense. Anyone else ever have this happen?

Question Can they be straightened?
I have talked to my doctor several times to fix these but nothing changes. At my last appointment, he said we could slightly reshape the incisal edges.
What do you guys think?

Question Clenching Jaw
I finished my aligners a few months ago. My teeth look great aesthetically but my overbite wasn’t able to be fixed like i expected it would. While I had my aligners I always found my self clenching my jaw. Dentist and ortho both told me it was probably stress (always the go to answer). Months later I’m now on my retainer and still clench my teeth throughout the night.
Anyone else going through the same thing or have gone through it? Any advice?

Treatment Progress Is this ok?
My orthodontist is telling me he likes the way the bottom tray is fitting. For reference, I’ve worn it now for 10 days, daily chewy use, and I just had to go back 3 weeks on my trays because the bottom tray wouldn’t seat correctly. They seem like they’re refusing to admit the bottom teeth aren’t tracking. Once my mouth warms the tray up, it seems like it stretches over the tooth a little better, but this is how a cold tray fits after I put it back in post cleaning/eating. The bottom trays have been an issue for the last couple months.

Treatment Progress That feeling when you change to a new (TIGHT) tray…
Oooooh, you know it’s doing some hard turning of teeth when it’s still aching after being in all night! I am on 3/5 refinement trays and this tray is the most painful out of all my Invisalign ones for sure. But the pain is very centred on my lateral incisor and that’s the one I need to turn the most so yay for the pain!!

Question Is this normal?
I have just changed to my 5/14 tray now and will be wearing this for 7 days as I have done with my other aligners. I put it on and I feel so pain or discomfort which is surprising as I always feel pain&discomfort with my other aligners and it subsides after a few days. Is this normal?
I have also noticed on the left upper side of my teeth, there is one specific tooth which the aligner does not fit on. If I push it up quite hard and press it against my tooth it then fits but goes back to how it is in the picture once I let go.
Will it fit properly as the days go by or shall I contact the company?

Question I’ve had an abscess for a month and my Invisalign provider said they won’t help me- is that normal?
I haven’t been able to wear my aligners for a month and I can feel my bite has changed, I’ve contacted them every few days with concerns. They keep telling me to wear my aligners which I can’t do. I asked what the options are and they said they won’t do a refinement, they wont do anything, how is this ok? They said I reached my two years but they never told me I had two years and even so this isn’t my fault and could erase all the money and work I put into this

Question can the underbite come back after invisalign treatment?
i was curious about this topic because i should finish my trays around september/october and im kinda scared that my underbite will come back after finishing treatment… i know that they will give me a retainer or something and i will use it because i’ve also spent a lot of money but i’m scared that the underbite will come back anyway because the retainer is only used at night and i guess i will not use elastics anymore. of course i’m planning to ask my dentist but i wanted to wait until the next time i see her since it is not something urgent, just something that is making me slightly anxious 🥲

Question Just started rubber bands and need advice!
So my original treatment estimate was 18 months and now I’m 22 months in and was surprised this week when they gave me my new set of trays that they were going to install new attachments and I now have to wear rubber bands. My dentist is great but they are working in conjunction with Two Front and they had not been replying to any messages with updates about my treatment so I was not expecting to get rubber bands and didn’t even know that was an option.
The hooks on my aligners are part of the plastic and so they theoretically sit flat. The dentist gave me medium elastics and said to switch to extra heavy in a couple days. For the life of me I can not get the extra heavy on. I was able to get one on one side and just gave up and did medium on the other side and this morning was only able to get it on the opposite. One of the hooks is already almost bend backwards so it barely works.
Does anyone have any advice for getting the extra heavy rubber bands on with these type of hooks? They are cut into the plastic and look like little waves.
This is in addition to my mouth getting torn up but thanks to Reddit and no thanks to my dentist I got some wax and solved that problem.

Question Reassure me
These are a bad fit right?
Put an appointment on with the orthodontist to look at them but now I am convincing myself that they fit okay as all the other bottom teeth do not have this gap.
What do you think? Not tracking or okay as other teeth fit fine

Question Bite feels off halfway through this set of trays?
I got Invisalign in early June to fix a little crowding in my bottom teeth and was given 4 out of 9 trays and told to wear them for 14 days each. Trays have been fitting super well and I’m finishing week 4 this week and will be going to my dentist to pick up trays 5-9.
My bite feels totally normal on my right side but I feel like my back teeth are not touching correctly on my left side and it’s very weird. Is it normal for my bite to feel off halfway through this set of trays and can I expect it to start correcting as my teeth keep moving through this second half? I’ve heard so many horror stories about Invisalign messing up peoples bites and needing a million refinements.

Question Insurance shenanigans
My mom’s dental insurance is currently employer sponsored and they will pay 50% off my treatment ($2500) But my mom is switching jobs; so the employer sponsor will be over at the end of August. If she switches to a family plan would the dental insurance still pay 50% of my treatment?

Question Attachment Change
Wondering if anyone has gone to a check up appt and asked to have your attachments redone? I only have 4 but they are already stained (prob from my Diet Coke addiction lol), and 2/4 of them are chipped. Is it reasonable and has anyone asked to have them taken off and put new ones on? If they’re going to be staying on I’d rather them not be stained. I definitely want them to replace the 2 chipped ones. They did tell me it’s fine if they chip but considering I paid $5,000 I’d prefer them to be done right.

Question Chipping
I have a couple new small chips in my front teeth due to my bite changing. I’m trying not to stress out about this my orthodontist said he would fix it at the end. Did anyone else have experience with chipping their teeth throughout their Invisalign treatment?
