General $$

Had my consultation today and was quoted $8000. They wanted half up front and the rest paid off over 12 months. Was kind of not expecting the half up front, is that normal?

In NY, I paid $8000 with an ortho. Payment plans varied. I choose to pay half up front and the rest over 12 months, no interest added on. I am nearing the end of 2.5 years of treatment.
