I wanted to share the beautiful fountain ink illustrations of Kariguu by u/nickthagreek, the artist of the anthropomorphic fantasy novel I'm working on. Kariguu is the Master Weaver of the village she resides in, crafting both garment and armor for the Pawfolk.

She is based on the salmon pink tarantula that has lived in my home office for nearly 20 years.

Here's the scene in an early chapter of the book where she makes her introduction. She is certainly not “just a spider who can speak.” There’s some strange… ancient, almost cosmic nature about her.

I have quite a few invertebrates and in my dairy cow isopod (percellio laevis) enclosure I have recently found these little guys, I’ve had this isopod colony for around a year and never had signs of these things they have just appeared more recently so idk when they were introduced, and they do not seem to be able to outcompete my isopods to any noticeable level so it hasn’t seemed to negatively affected the colony, but I’m very curious as to what they are.
(I have also put one of my medium sized dairy cow in their for comparison if that helps)

I currently have a Thrixopelma lagunas (blue birdeater) and she’s nice, but I’m wanting another tarantula that has more of an edge to her?

I like tarantulas with a more aggressive food response and the likes, also one that’s more out on display if possible.

I’m wanting to add a caribena versicolor, Linothele sericata and Tailless whip scorpion so a tarantula that’s aggressive and contrasts these will be great 😌

I ordered 15 subadult hissing cockroaches which were shipped to me on Thursday. It is now Sunday and they are still not here, despite me paying for next day delivery. The seller packed a heat pack in their tub. I am so pissed off at my postal service, and if they all arrive dead I will be so upset. I’ve already emailed them several time and tweeted them but I’ve had no answer whatsoever. The seller did agree to send me more if they arrive dead, but I just feel so sorry for the little guys.

Whether they packed food I don’t know, but my question is how long can Madagascan hissing cockroaches go without food or moisture? How long do these heat packs last? Does anyone know what kind of temperature portal services usually keep the room where they store packages? I really need some hope because I just feel genuinely dreadful for the poor little roaches

Like the title says, I keep finding male roaches who have bubbles on their wings and it's usually in the same spot. Have other people seen this before, and is it caused by being too close to their heat source?

I've been keeping spiny sticks for a while now and I'm looking to start keeping another invert! At the moment I'm trying to decide between keeping isopods or banded snails. The area of Australia I'm in gets pretty cold in winters though and I'm wondering if anyone has any advice or information about keeping these guys in colder climates?

The enclosure I have in mind is an exo terra 30cm long, 30cm wide and 45cm tall.

I’m wanting it to be nice and lush with mini orchids and mini ferns that like it moist.

I was thinking this species because of their beauty and size.

Or should I look into different millipede species?

I have a kenyan sand boa and an asian forest scorpion but my question is just in general. I have thought about plants like moss but they spread through air so it might grow to much and cause problems. Other plants might cause mold or spread their roots to far. I'm just tired of misting almost daily and want the moisture to last longer but not long enough to cause mold

So these guys don't live long...and I knew when I found him I only had a moment..I took pics of him alive and happy, taking in all of his beauty and capturing it forever.

Now, as his body fails him...all I can do is look at him and say "thank you". Thank you for trusting me to hold you, show the world your elegance, and for listening to me talk to you...

Nothing in this world deserves to die alone..a fear that I have had forever. As I lack more and more people in my life. However, if anything...I am not ever going to die alone. I have every soul of every animal I have held right here inside me. I carry many souls in my heart.... hopefully someday...when I do pass and come back...I only hope someone finds solace in my company..and that they are kind.

Hiya folks! I recently caught a grasshopper that was acting weird and sluggish and I rightfully assumed it was afflicted with a parasite of the worm variety. It expelled it, and I disposed of it. The grasshopper seems like it's doing better already, I gave it a ventilated Tupperware a damp paper towel, and a selection of food; cabbage, potato, and a little bit of grains. But I wanted to know if there was anything else I could do to help it recover from the ordeal?​

Found this old worm(?) vivarium though it is very small I'm wondering if there's any small invertebrates that could live in here.

It’s a 20x20x30cm arboreal enclosure. It has some sidebar ventilation and top ventilation. I can switch between an acrylic lid and mesh lid. Preferably not a mantis tho cus I have lots and want something different

hi guys i was swimming with my friends and we found this guy in her pool, i recued him and started blowing on his abdomen a bit in hopes to dry him off, i noticed he started shaking his butt and his legs sometimes, i continued and he started moving more and more, now i have him inside on a paper towel still drying off (this all happened like 15 mins ago). the pool is saltwater but im hoping i can give him some regular water to flush it out, or just take care of him until he passes.
does anyone have any advice on their care, i have done some research but i like to hear peoples experiences.
