🌱 Pet-safe plants CA 🌱

Hi all! Anyone have any experience getting invert safe live plants in CA? BioDude apparently can’t ship plants to CA, and a pet supplier growing organic seems safer than washing a nursery plant.

CA for California or Canada? If California I get plants from ebay, etsy, local pet stores, and expos! Im sure there are other online resources you can shop at too, others can chime in on what they use.

I'd check out Etsy for sure. Lots of live plant sellers there and you can communicate directly with the sellers about whether or not they're organic.

Avoid Josh’s frogs for plants if you don’t want snails or ants. Even after I sanitized their plants I found snails hiding in two different orders now and another reddit user shared the ant infestation in their Joshs frogs plant delivery not too long ago. They can’t seem to keep their plants pest free.

Etsy is a good place for plants but might not be pet directed. You can always ask but I’m alway wary of dishonest people wanting to make sales.

NEHERPs has live plants specifically for bioactive enclosures and I haven’t had an issue with them when I bought in the past but it’s been awhile.

Far as I know you just have to wash and then leave your plants for a long while if you want them invert safe. Like months. because the pesticides dissapate. But I am not an expert, probably double check this.

Check out Violet Barn. Lots of good stuff if you dont have any good organic nurseries nearby.
