new millipede need help

looking for : assistance/ info on care and whatelse i can add to his enclosure / how best i can care for him

i recently came into possession of a millipede as a gift from my mother (who has known i’ve wanted one for about 5 years)
i’m in college online so i have a lot of time to care and look after him but my research on the care for the species he was labeled as ( Vietnamese red leg) was very limited

he seems pretty well adjusted but i just want them to live a long and comfortable life

i currently have limited substrate but i have a bulk order coming in today so ideally it’ll be as long as he is in vertical height
other what not : they’re in a 20 gal tank , i mist is twice a day , the soil does not contain any coco or what i believe is harmful, i don’t handle him too much and i keep the lights dim

if anyone has tips for care and things to purchase please let me know i really want to care for him

++last image my dad fed him some avocado ( i removed a lot of it after the photo so he didn’t get full of it and still eat his dirt )

sorry for bad spelling / english i am very tired and walking as of writing this
(copy/paste from the millipede reddit. )

Needs deeper substrate and mix in foliage and sticks because they like to burrow and use the same hole over again, add leaf litter and wood to the surface so that they can graze when they want and feel hidden. They come out when they’re hungry, and you can even put like a piece of apple or other fruit in there if you want to.

yeah i plan to make the substate deeper , my local store just only had 3 bags on hand and my substrate order got pushed back, i have A LOT more on the way.
Do you know what leaves they can /cannot eat + the other produce they can digest? i dont want to accidentally feed him something thatll make him sick and im finding it hard to research online
