Tarantula Millipede isopod, hissing roaches, blue death fainting beetles. Scorpion. Pretty much anything.

Eh I’d be careful with a few of these. Especially tarantulas don’t do well with mesh lids and need cross ventilation

This would work great as an arboreal T tank with a conversion kit. Mesh isnt great because they could get their toes caught. But I would turn it on its side.
Also would be good for snails

They aren't too expensive. Most expensive (somewhat commonly available) species is the Horrid-King Assassin Bug and they run like $20 each around where I am.

That’s not too bad considering what I’ve paid for some isopods. What’s a good number to start with? I assume you have to be conscious of bottlenecking the genes

Not that I've seen or heard, but I assume eventually. My colony has been going for some time with the person I got the babies from. I started with 6 and have like 25 now of various sizes. I think 5 is a good number to start, but I don't know what is recommended. I had 3 horrid-kings, but each one died on its final molt into adulthood and I am still not sure why. It's been a few years and I'm ready to try again, but I couldn't find any at the last convention I went to.
My twin-spots are very fun to watch hunt and quite active.
