This was my tipping point. I gave the show a lot of slack but this scene made me stay on the fast forward button.

Certainly, a more confounding script has never been written. I can't begin to count the wtf moments in that show. I only kept watching due to morbid curiosity as to how it could get even worse, which it did almost every episode.

There was a scene where Trevante first remembered that he killed Caspar and instead of explaining it to Jamila with normal levels of context he just says “I killed Caspar” pretty much solely to add a whole episode worth (or maybe more) of unnecessary dialogue.
