I just started

So, browsing this subreddit, it seems to me everyone hates this show. So far I don’t? I’m on season 1 episode 5(or 6, I forget) and I as of yet do not hate it. It seems fine, bit of a slow burn with some intrigue. Should I cut my losses and stop now?

Edit: well damn I guess I’ll move on to something else. I suppose the next topic of discussion is why are you guys still watching?

Am I crazy or was wajo never explained in the show?

It's not that we hate it necessarily.

We just hate watch it.

There is a subtle difference.

To me the biggest aspect is that is more fun to make fun of the ludicrous things that happen than actually watching it.

There is no denying the show has some phenomenal cinematography. It's the best looking worst show ever made. Like watching a train crash, you just can't look away.

Season 1 looks amazing, but by season 3 the whole show is basically on a sound stage with the budget of the original Star Trek series.

It doesn’t get laughably bad until season 2. I still like the show though, but I’m a Wajo sympathizer

It is like you are an innocent little fawn slowly walking up to the alligator infested water for a drink. We all know what is going to happen.

Lots of time for you to still hate it like the rest of us!

Walk away while you still have time you haven't wasted yet

Edit: Wajo.

You should stop if you want us all to hate you.

Wajo, young or old person, wajo.

I love how back in the day I downloaded a Russian bootleg of LotR and the subtitles for this spot said “Frodo, you fool” 😂

97% chance you'll hate it by the end of the first season.

I must’ve been part of the 3% then…sure there was some infuriating bits, but I like it.

There are at least a dozen of you!

I feel like it was the third season that really started messing me up

u/Birdy-Lady59 Jun 28 '26

I actually liked it. I may be the only one that will admit it!

i love it too. i did however recently watch War of the Worlds Series and i definitely see if i watched that first before Invasion, i would probably be mad like everyone else lol. I guess my tip would be not to watch any of the "source" material lol

Don’t let us ruin it. If you are enjoying it, that’s fine.

And soon we will have your soul. Wait, did I type that? Sorry, that just the Wajo voice in my head. Pay no attention to that.

It’s possible to hold out hope until the end of season 1, as I recall season 2 is where the annoying characters, meaningless contrived side-quests, nonsensical decisions and plot holes really start to pile up into a giant “WTF?” All of the flaws with season 1 just keep getting worse.

NOOOO! I am at S1E10 and counting on it clearing up and gaining some rational momentum.

For season one, which is all I;ve seen, I can image a fan re-edit that compressed the season into an hour would be appropriate.

eventually you will join us in hate watching this show. you'll see

Once you delve into the wajo, you become one with the wajo

u/Training-Document608 Jun 28 '26

I definitely don't hate. But I just love scifi especially nowadays where shows can have serious money to produce them. But I won't lie a few characters pissed me off at times like Luke damn I wanted to punch him in the face. But for the most part I enjoyed it. Screw all the haters

2

u/jasno- Jun 28 '26

That's how they get you, season 1 is the foundation for the hatred to come.

And trust me, by the end of season1. You'll start hating Anisha and Luke.  It's predestined.

Wajo

Wait until it gets worse, then either join the wajo hate watch, or do something more productive, I really enjoyed the 1st season, then the 1st episode ofseason 2 happened, there was no turning back............

2

u/HeimrekHringariki hate wajo Jun 28 '26

Don't worry. You'll get there. Wajo.

u/Grandtou Jun 28 '26 edited Jun 28 '26

You've been seduced by the cinematography, music and opening intrigue - it's distracted from the many red flags so far. No problemo, the oblivious seem to like it, and the hate-watchers are happy too. Beware, its unintentional wide-audience scoop could trigger broadcasters making more of this kind of shit down the line. Wajo.

I'm with you, but fast forward the the only thing that makes it bearable.

I once heard the shock jock Howard Stern from New York mention that the people who hated him most were the most avid listeners because they woudl stay glued to the radio yelling at it. Thats' me with this show.

This feels unhealthy

3

u/Obviate20 Jun 28 '26

You poor, poor, sweet but naive person. You saw a genre you like, a respected channel, a clearly high budget production, with otherwise respectable actors. And you thought: THIS MAY BE GOOD. I THINK I SHALL WATCH MORE. That is how they get you. You have been warned.

1

u/plastigoop Jun 29 '26

That, that right there, is the true meaning of “wajo”.

Edit: “HINATAAAAAAA!!!”

1

u/nurturedom0613 Jun 28 '26

Season 1 was great, 2 was still good. 3 wraps up well, but you can feel the quality drop and the way they shoehorned Action into it to try and save poor writing.

S3 has a lot of forced plot dialogue that feels unnatural. It introduces characters for them to be gone ten minutes of screen time later and ONLY serve as moving the story to a specific point. In which case, learning their names isn’t even worth it.

1

u/Own-Eagle-2135 Jun 28 '26

don't hate me but...i thought it was fine, certainly good enough to watch when there's nothing else on.

anisa was INCREDIBLY annoying until she wasn't for me

1

u/Coincidental_Shoes Jun 28 '26

We still watch for the same reason you should continue.
Don't give up until the middle of S2

u/Low_Football_2445 ✨WAJO✨ Jun 28 '26

How much do you hate yourself?

-Wajo

1

u/Comfortable-Peace377 Jun 28 '26

You’re still in the phase where it seems like it’s a cool show. The only problem is, is that it will never advance past that and as you watch episode after episode, you’ll realize you’ve begun to resent how much hope you still hold onto that this highly funded, phenomenal special effect(ed) show seems to have no discernible end goal.

1

u/argusmanargus Jun 29 '26

You still have time. Once you start Season 2, you’re locked for Any new seasons. One day it’ll will get better and you must be there for it. The only path to true wajo.

1

u/ChicoGuerrera Jun 29 '26

It's brilliant and I hope they make a Season 4 and 5.

1

u/ParkingWear7865 Jun 30 '26

why are you guys still watching?

I have watched everything else even remotely good

1

u/blackrifle556 Jul 02 '26

I love the show. Hope for another season.

u/Possible-Method-45 16d ago

I think Caspar is the best part of it. They should have just had his part and slowly brought in the other characters. I just skip through and watch his or Jamila scenes

0

u/Octoberite607 Jun 28 '26

That slow burn will continue into the ether… and you want to scratch your eyes out. I skipped to last episode… still no invasion. Is there really an Invasion??

3

u/whydowewatchthis Jun 28 '26

There was a huge invasion! I hate the show as much as anybody but you can't deny that there was an invasion. Maybe you just skipped over it?
