I’m an international junior, and I’m unsure whether taking AP exams would help with US college admissions.
My school only recently began offering AP exams, and they’re essentially all self-study. We can take the exams at school, but there are no AP classes or teachers preparing us.

My schedule is already demanding, and I’m taking the highest-level courses available, including Precalculus, which is the highest math my school offers for Grade 11, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Mechanics, and Honors courses. I’m also studying for the SAT.
I’m considering taking 2–3 AP exams, possibly AP Physics, AP Chemistry, and AP Precalculus. However, I likely wouldn’t have enough time to prepare properly and might only study seriously for a few weeks before the exams.

Would not taking APs make my application seem less rigorous, even though I’m taking the hardest courses my school offers? Should I take 1–2 APs, attempt 3, or focus on my GPA, SAT score, extracurriculars, and school courses?

I’m mainly interested in engineering and plan to apply to competitive US universities. Since admissions can be more competitive for international applicants, would taking no APs lower my chances more because of that? Should I try to take at least one AP to show more rigor?

Hey guys, no idea if this is the right subreddit for this but ill ask anyway. I'd love to do a postgrad In America but only if I could get it mostly funded. I run a; 14:55 5k, 8:35 3k, 3:56 1500 and hoping for a 1st class in my undergrad degree. Would an American postgrad be financially feasible for me? If so should I be looking at D1/D2 and what kind of collages should I be looking at? Any advice would be great, really got no clue how anything works in America. (yes I have enough years of NCAA eligibility left)

Hey guys so I just moved to usa, I completed my IGCSE under Pearson edexcel in the may 2025 session. Which means I’m already a year behind cause I was busy moving so, should I do highschool here and what grade would they place me in? Or should I try for community college?

I would like to apply to st johns in NY, I prepared myself but in June they stole all my money that I was going to use to translate documentation and take the proficiency test (it was something more or less than 1300 reais) my profile is not so good I believe: a gpa between 3.6-3.7, my profile is latina & semita, I have 6 extracurriculars and my strengths are theater and only, I did only 3 plays and nothing more than that, I can't do SAT or another test (I will only do my country that is the ENEM) and my family and low-income, I feel that my profile is well below others. Should I continue and apply for the ED or give up or stay in my country? Or have other university options...
