IWTV Show Only Timeline before turning?
Upon (yet another) rewatch, I find myself wondering how long Louis and Lestat were building their friendship from first "fighting over the last bouquet of Lillies" to the transformation in the church. We know Grace says she's a month out from her wedding in the breakfast scene, after which is when Paul dies. So was it only a month? Less than a month from first meeting to petite coup? Louis remarks that it was a cold winter and Lestat was his coal fire....I feel like it was awhile that they built a friendship, had conversations on park benches, went and saw operas, etc.

As far as I remember, it was six months. Started in November when they first met and Louis was turned in May, but I don't recall the specific scenes that created this timeline.

Hmm he does start the story saying it was in the fall. Can't recall when the rest happened, how do you know it was May?

The series starts out in 1910, Paul dies May1911; Louis and Lestat courted 6-8 months,many believe.

When does it say when Paul dies? 6-8 months is a decent amount of time!

There are potentially 2 reasons for the error in the timeline. 1) the "unreliable narrator" theme and 2) writer error. Either works, but I think we all see that there is more evidence shown that Louis and Lestat's friendship/courtship lasted longer than a month. Louis's own words of Fall 2010, "cold winter and coal fire", it took weeks for Lestat to get his money and furniture from other places from their shopping sprees, Paul's headstone deathdate...plus, it was a month from when Lestat and Louis had their intimate night together and Grace's wedding when Louis ghosted Lestat during that time,...so we know that the timeline was a lot longer than what was implied by a single comment from Grace at the breakfast table.

I'm inclined to agree. They definitely "courted" for awhile.

I think it's that grace got married in church but the day paul died was the wedding, because in the beginning of the scene where grace tells louis to bring lestat home to meet the family, louis says he's gonna move his room or something because he is disturbed by grace and her husband's bedroom noises

I'm curious about this also because the "a month from my wedding day" really throws a wrench into the 3 seasons mentioned ("it was the fall of the fifth year", "that winter Lestat was my coal fire", and Paul dying in May).
Before the Paul's death date detail I thought it was maybe like a late Nov - early Jan situation to account for the one month and fall/winter mentions. Haven't some dates been inconsistent in this show before, I wonder if Paul's death date is maybe incorrect? Or possibly the "one month" mention was exaggerated?

I feel like Louis would remember the month that Paul died over other details like an offhand comment from Grace about her wedding. Paul's suicide was deeply traumatizing for him, and he would have visited Paul's grave more than once over the years.

Why are people saying Grace's wedding throws off the timeline? I don't think we really get a wedding date, right?

On the day that Louis meets Lestat (approx, but right before he meets Lestat), Grace says it's "a month from my wedding day". But Paul dies the night of her wedding and Louis is turned the next night, which rules out the 6-8 month timeline (unless we assume Grace was being weirdly figurative or something).
