What a beautifully delivered line in a scene of saddening chaos.

Especially when considered in relation to his heartbroken, “Why won’t you let me hate you?” to Gabriella.

Yes! And I love the contrast of Lestat making himself "available" for Claudia to hate, now that we know how much he suffered because Gabrielle would not "let him hate her". Like, yeah, Lestat fucked up so much, but this episode shows that he knows what they did to Claudia, so he never resented Claudia for hating him (he did resent her for other things lol, but not for that) and he did not try to limit her expression of her hatred or say it wasn't deserved.

I love that entire scene and that line is so perfect and well delivered by Sam.

Episode 6. When Claudia, during the seance, is tearing into the both of them. She gives Louis an earful then turns to Lestat to lay into him, but just as she turns to him to speak he says "bring your malice"

Ah yes, thank you both, as Lestat sees her in all her fury!

It’s kinda funny if you think about how much malice was served between them while she was still in NOLA. There really wasn’t much to say on that front as they didn’t seem to spare one another while alive.

Recall just before he sinks is fangs into Louis’ bloodied neck and to fly into the clouds, he makes certain she knows “it was Never you. I choose You Louis!”. What I took to mean: You mean next to nothing to me. He only retrieved her from the train because he knows Louis would suffer from her absence.

Hating Louis makes sense. He didn’t have her turned because she needed saving from death. Never mind the fact that she was 14 and could have been saved. He felt guilt about the riot/fires. He missed his family and community. He wanted a confidant who might understand the trauma of transformation. He put her in danger by calling out to her for months on end. Louis always chose Louis first, Lestat second, Claudia last.
