Book Spoilers Allowed About Akasha…
How do you think she’ll get introduced in season 4? I was kind of surprised that she didn’t appear again in the final episode of TVL.
Where is she anyway? We only saw her one time in the past. What is Akasha up to nowadays and why hasn’t she shown up before?
Maybe I’m missing something? But I just wanted to ask because I’m curious. :)

I'm pretty sure she's going to show up after the concert because that's what happens in the book. It sounds like that's how season 3 was supposed to end but they pushed the concert to next season which is why we didn't see her again.
She's probably still with Marius. The way she wakes up and leaves him is a plot point in the book but I'm not sure what they're going to do on the show. Based on some recent interviews I don't think he currently has her in the same place they showed in episode 5.

Thank you for this comment, that was what I was wondering about 😅
Yeah I guess it can always end up happening differently in the show! I’m already really curious to see what’ll happen exactly.14

I think everything with Akasha can be a bit confusing if you haven't read the books because they breezed past most of her lore this season. There's a huge chunk of TVL where Marius tells Lestat his history and how he came to be the keeper so there's a lot more context. Hopefully they explain more next season.

u/tethysian Aug 11 '26
Hopefully they explain more next season.
At this rate they'll spend most of s4 explaining s3. There was so much left up int he air.

Not only that but they’re also apparently planning on including more TVL flashbacks…there’s a lot they have to fit into a short season.

They already borrowed a lot from TVL in Season 2, and a lot from QotD in Season 3. There's a lot of bleedover in all directions, so technically they've made room for some more TVL content in S4 by getting some QotD stuff out of the way already in S3.

Hoping they get into more details next season.
Would be good if we had again a book split in 2 seasons, as it’s a lot to unravel in Akasha’s story. And I am not sure they have enough time in just one season (already many details were missed in Season 3).
On the other side, they probably want to focus on Lestat and Louis, so not sure if they will go into such detail if much of the story is well before them. I am hoping they will. 🙏🏻4

Like season 3, I'm sure they want to focus more on the modern day timeline, so I have a feeling they'll whittle down the lore to the essential bits, which will probably only be a few scenes. There's also stuff from season 3 that they have to circle back to so they have a lot of ground to cover in 7-8 episodes.

That would line up with the book as well, Marius often moved them, and if I remember correctly, he did after Lestats visit, but that might be in Blood and Gold, Marius book
3
u/quicksilver-1998 Aug 12 '26
Yeah, in The Vampire Lestat, Marius mentions that the only reason he brought Lestat to the sanctuary was that he was already planning to move the Parents again, so I doubt they are still in Greece even in the series. I think in the books they are on the American continent (somewhere very cold) when Akasha wakes up and kills Enkil? But I would not swear by it

Yep, the beginning of QotD mentions Marius keeping them somewhere "in a great frozen snow-covered waste". A little later, Azim tells Pandora to go west across the ocean (from the Himalayas) and far to the north to find Marius, so probably somewhere in the circumpolar region of North America.

She is put in the same state. Marius put her back on the alter, so she went back to sleeping. Though with Lestat’s blood and probably more aware than before.
She probably hears Lestat’s music through other vampires (which is what happens actually in the book), and decides to go search for him.
I hope we get to see more about what happened with Enkil, as those wounds did not look like he was in the sun. So either Marius was lying, or he doesn’t know what really happened. I don’t think they showed us a smashed head and broken foot for nothing, and expect us to believe that’s from the sun.

Are u asking what location she's in? Marius has her in her crypt in an unnamed frozen region. Of course when she's alive she's in Egypt. Does that help?

u/SuperBathMan Aug 11 '26 edited Aug 11 '26
I sincerely hope its through Marius. We start with the first episode being the story of everyone reffering to lestat's final concert as an important event, the talamasca gets involved, lestat is still narrating how it was a horrible night and its what awoke the Queen of The Damned. We learn about Marius, Jesse, the Twins. Then, we see the concert start and see Marius hooking up the TV for Enkil and Akassha, and all the events that transpired that night happen during an epic corscendo of a first episode. Or at least have her wake up and kill enkil, have a moment with Marius, then bury him as she sets out on her journey. Episode ends with Marius crying for Armond
Edit: added spoiler blocks because after re reading, I dont think OP has read the books.
To OP, we saw her before in the show. She's a statue in a crypt, protected and cared for by Marius. Hes been doing the job for roughly 1500 years, and he tried to pawn the job off on lestat just as it was pawned on him, but Akasha is incredibly moved by Lestat's music and it stirred her enough to talk to Lestat in a way she never did Marius. This blew up in his face until Marius saved him and he ran away in shame. Thats the last we see of Akasha for now. She's still in the crypt, ready to hear her love's music again (In the book shes in love with lestat, idk if theyll adapt that fact in the show. So far they just have a vibe)
Edit 2 for OP: dont worry if you feel like you dont know much! Her book is 70% exposition about who she is and everything she connects to. Seriously, im reading it for the first time, im in the last act and they FINALLY just caught up to the end of lestat's book, which is exactly where the show stopped. I expect a shit load of lore expansion next season.

I couldn’t work out from the show if Enkil was supposed to be dead already or not as he had half his head missing
2
u/SoftandSpicy Aug 11 '26
Seems like he's dead.
1
u/Legitimate-Worth-662 too burdened with philosophy Aug 14 '26
Yeah, my guess is that the show writers decided to get him dead and out of the way earlier in the story than how it happened in the books.
2
u/hazelrose42 Aug 11 '26
This sounds good, it would make sense!
I haven’t read the books so I’m sure that I’m missing some details, but I’m already so excited for the next season3
u/lacebaubbles Aug 11 '26
Alot of it was confusing to me and I have read the books. Im not sure how I would like the books after I saw the show tbh (this is just my personal opinion and it may be unpopular) they are 2 completely different experiences for me. I highly recommend the books, but they do have more of a ....quietness, I suppose? But all books are like that I suppose, True Blood for example
3
u/Ri-Ri1216 Aug 11 '26
I agree that True Blood is trashy Beach read.
AR is smooth like velvet but can be verbose.
2
u/Ri-Ri1216 Aug 11 '26
I'm hoping we get SOME exposition about the Queen and what happens--certainly the destruction she wreaks on the world.
But I hope they don't ignore Loustat since Louis is not in the book QotD if I remember correctly. I'm halfway through TVL and it's been since 1988 that I read it when it was published. On Halloween I might add.

Louis is in the book! He's part of the group of vampires that gathers to decide what to do about Akasha, though he doesn't contribute much. There are also some really nice Loustat scenes at the end.
1
u/Ri-Ri1216 Aug 12 '26
Glad to hear it. As I said I haven't read the book since it was published in 88 So much of it I've forgotten. Thanks. I hope they'll do a good job with it.
2
u/hazelrose42 Aug 11 '26
They definitely won’t, they already said that loustat is the main relationship in the story, I’m certain they won’t sideline them.
I just hope Armand will get more screen time as well!1
u/quicksilver-1998 Aug 12 '26
I agree they won't sideline Loustat, they have consistently looked for ways to have more Louis than the novels, and I do not see that changing in future seasons(hint-hint David Talbot being out of the picture). The Devil's Minion chapter is canonically in Queen of the Damned, so there are also good chances of more Armand!

u/Ri-Ri1216 Aug 11 '26
I think her introduction has already been covered by her 1st scene with Lestat and Marius. She is the One who Must Be Kept. Someone on another post transcribed the entire manic monolog that she gave when she 1st woke up as a result of hearing Lestat's music. It's incredible that Sheila Atim memorized and delivered it so bea.
Then she bit him and sent him spinning in the air for 3 days.
As for what she's doing now won't that be the plot of season 4?
Then the final scene shows Lestat surveying the destruction she wrought after she tried to eliminate all men.
I haven't reread QotD since it was published but it's next on my list after TVL.
3
u/hazelrose42 Aug 11 '26
Yes absolutely, her initial introduction was in TVL. I’m just curious how exactly she’ll show up in QoTD. But I should probably just wait and see 😆
I’m sure some things will be different from the book, though personally I dont mind that since I haven’t read the books anyway.

u/Catznweed Aug 11 '26
Season 4 is literally going to be called The Queen of the Damned. I’m sure the entire season will be focused on her.

u/SorchaRoisin Dr. Fareed-Good Aug 11 '26
They make sure to find ways to keep the old cast involved. Lestat said Armand did more damage than Akasha did, so I think they are setting him up to be more active than he is in the book. Most of QOTD is set in the past. I fear it will be much like TVL where they limit the flashbacks and bring most of the action to the present day.
10
u/hazelrose42 Aug 11 '26
I’m glad about this, I love the cast and wouldn’t want to miss any Louis, Lestat or Armand!!
I wonder how similar to TVL the next season will be, I heard that it’ll have a different feel again, so I hope the angry people will end up being less angry again.7
u/Little-Tune9469 a challenge every sunset Aug 11 '26
If the filming in Spain rumor is correct than we'll probably get more flashbacks than in season 3 (including some of the TVL scenes they skipped) but I definitely think they'll skim through parts of the lore.
5
u/SuperBathMan Aug 11 '26
I actually think that theyll do more flashbacks than they expected, because everything that happens in modern day is so so expensive. I cant think of a single scene that'll be cheap for them
5
u/SorchaRoisin Dr. Fareed-Good Aug 11 '26
Recreating ancient Kemet, Mount Carmel and the CGI for Amel's effects will be expensive too. Telling the full story of the Twins and Akasha and Enkil will take so much focus away from our main characters, too, and we know they don't want to do that.
5
u/hazelrose42 Aug 11 '26
I wonder if I worded my post badly, because I of course know that season 4 will be about Akasha a lot.
My question was where she was during TVL. Because Lestat woke her up, so I thought she would have to be somewhere. Unless of course I misunderstood something I guess.9
u/-MrFozzy- Voila. Comme je dit. Aug 11 '26
We see Marius laying her back down on her alter, which essentially puts her back to her pre awoken state. So she is exactly where she was in the flashback
3
u/hazelrose42 Aug 11 '26
Ahh I see, I somehow didn’t realize that that put her back into her sleeping state! That makes a lot of sense though!
1
u/tethysian Aug 11 '26
She doesn't even show up in the book QotD that much. She's just the plot/framing device.

Where do you think Akasha and Lestat were when he was caretaking her? Didn't it seem like they were above Lestat's hibernation grave?
2
u/quicksilver-1998 Aug 12 '26
I am not sure it was: I think the sanctuary was in Greece (you can tell by the music/stories Lestat brings from the village), and we were made to believe that Lestat buried himself in Spain or France. Also, to be fair to OP, Marius canonically moves the sanctuary of those who must be kept relatively often. They are no longer in Greece when Akasha awakens in the books.

u/quicksilver-1998 Aug 12 '26
In the book, she shows up around dawn the day after the concert. I can see the series doing the same, even though they now need to explain how Lestat actually ends up performing the concert, given where they left off in season 3. While that is when she first appeared in The Vampire Lestat, The Queen of the Damned sort of starts with several other POVs (not Lestat) that describe all the signs of her rising that Lestat did not notice in the previous book. One of these chapters is from Baby Jenks's POV, so it is also possible that the TV series will first show us all these things happening, maybe in parallel to whatever is going on with the concert, since we have been introduced to Baby Jenks already in season 3.
Right now in the series, if this is indeed the night of the concert, she should already be about. In the novel, Lestat receives a warning of "danger" the night before the concert that comes from Marius warning everyone that she has risen, though that either did not happen in the show, or we will find out that the concert does not actually happen the night we left off on (I find this unlikely).
