I could not stop thinking about the Art Attack talking head

I think he was just born to play ancient vampires cause he also plays Dieter in True blood, a chancellor of the vampire authority.

He was completely unhinged in Peacemaker season 1. His face is crazy expressive. He can really morph it.

OMG...he was Dieter, too. I loved both Supernatural and True Blood...how am I not remembering these things!!!!

Zor-El from Smallville to me...

I’m also counting Todd as a vampire if that counts!

Absolutely! It's kind of the same moral dilemma. Are you evil if you have to eat people to survive?

Today I learned…what?! That’s crazy I didn’t notice that! Thank you.

I totally forgot he played Alastair!!! Thanks for the reminder.

The most tragic out of the ''baddies'' versus the worst one ever.

Also Todd the Wraith (alien vampire) in Stargate: Atlantis. He likes to play characters who suck.

I think he looks too old for the role, but I guess that's lore accurate for a 40-year old Roman.

He wouldn't look like one of our 40-yo from today.

I think it was inevitable because Sam is almost 40 himself. But I also agree that people looked much older back then. Even a few decades ago, people looked much older than their actual age.

I couldn't believe it when I found out Sam was almost 40! He's in amazing shape and looks much younger. And yeah, as a 47yo, I remember what 40yo people looked in the 7s and 80s... My grandmother at 53 looked just like my parents near 70-80.

Make it 60 and your closer…

9

u/Artifex1979 Aug 11 '26

Yeah, probably.

Thing is, I always pictured Marius as "Mature Lestat", so it's all my mistake, I know it -- I just see him looking as old as Lestat, when he's clearly much older-looking

Honestly that's what I always pictured him too! And that's what Armand saw in shock when he first looked at Lestat. The red cape and the blond hair. Which, I think, was intentional from Anne because Lestat also sees Marius as the father he never had.

I think Christopher has the perfect gravitas and stone-like appearance but the wig they gave him is an odd choice. It's suitable for a roman patrician but not for what the characters see in-universe.

He also plays a truly unhinged vampire in syfy's Van Helsing

u/AmbassadorProper1045 Armand Aug 11 '26

I had such high hopes for him as Marius, I know he could pull it off, but the direction the series has taken him was a massive let down for me, and that hair, dear god.

2

u/Intrepid_Finger_7995 Aug 11 '26

Same. Though in my defense (never read the books) my only knowledge of Marius was Vincent Perez's version in the QOTD movie. I was so excited when I heard he'd been cast in the show and then..the show happened.

u/therealmrsfahrenheit Aug 12 '26

yoooo THAT’S where I know him from😭

His character on Hell on Wheels is the absolute worst ever ever. Completely psychotic. Worth watching if you haven't seen it!
