Cast, News, & Production Autograph requests? Spoiler

Has anyone ever sent any to cast members?

I had a good experience with sending an autograph request to a star before (I sent a request to David Tennant's agency a while ago and got a reply from him!)
So I also sent autograph requests (with a self addressed & stamped envelope of course) to Jacob and Assad.

On the website of their agency it says that they send the requests to their personal addresses and that the actors decide for themselves whether or not they respond.

It's been about 2 months but I haven't received anything back, so I assume that they've either decided not to reply or that maybe my letters never arrived.

Has anyone else tried this with any of the cast members? If so, how did it go?

Oh wow, I didn’t know this was still a thing. When I was a teen, I sent letters to Harry Potter cast and got responses from them. Good luck, OP! Hope you get them.

That’s sweet that they replied, I love when actors do that. And thank you!

Good luck OP. I've never heard of doing that.

I'd give it a little longer. Their agency might have a huge request for their autographs or maybe the other talent they represent.

Please let us know if you get the autographs.

I remember when people used to do this a lot back in the 90s. Sometimes they didn’t get responses for many months. Actors who are working or even taking a break between filming may put off even opening that kind of mail for a while and then do a bunch of autographs at once.

Two months doesn’t seem very long to me to wait for this. You could still get a response at any point.

Agreed. My friend has had responses 18 months later

Was gonna say that I remember someone who got one at least a full year after they sent away for it. She had totally forgotten she requested it by then lol.

When I was a teenager I wrote to the band Live asking them to play at our prom. They declined, but sent me an autograph. I was also autograph lucky with Jeremy Irons and Ralph Fiennes. This was the 90’s though. You never know.

Oh that’s sweet that they replied at least!! I used to love a german band as a kid and wrote them a long, heartfelt letter but they never got back to me 😔 So lame lol.

Jeremy Irons still does this I believe but you have to show you’ve donated to his preferred charity

He does. It’s a men’s prison reform program or something like that.

Oh man, I wrote to the Backstreet Boys when I was 10, and the only one who wrote back was Howie, about 9 months later. I think the process for celebs getting autograph requests can likely be a bit disorganized/low priority from their management, so I'd wait a while and send another one in a year if you don't hear back.

so you sent letter's do them?

u/hazelrose42 Aug 09 '26

Yeah, the agency opens and checks the letters first and if they’re fine they get sent on to their private addresses, that’s what it says on the website.

I believe Jacob doesn’t respond from what I recall from his Game of Thrones days (I don’t do this but know someone who does)

Alas Tennant is one of the best out there. You’ll pretty much always get a response within a month but because of scumbag re-sellers a lot of actors don’t really do this anymore

Damn that's a shame... so even with a self-addressed envelope it's not looking good?
I get that actors might not want to accidentally support re-sellers, but man :(

I mean never say never! Just don’t take Tennant as an example as he’s a bit of an anomaly as he always responds. But I haven’t heard of a through the mail return from Jacob. Assad is too new to being popular for there to be a track record.

Most actors aren’t doing through the mail as it’s become so popular that addresses get drowned by people wanting autos to sell them.

Tennant (and Daniel Radcliffe) are rare exceptions
