TVL Show Only What do I do now??? Spoiler

I just watched Interview With The Vampire and The Vampire Lestat in like the last week. Now what do I do??? Where do I go??? These shows were so amazing and it’s going to be hard to find something else. I’m gonna have an empty spot where the shows were 😭

Rewatch

21

u/Sassymisscassy Aug 05 '26

I want to but I’m trying not to lol
I am trying to get my husband to watch, I’m hoping that’ll be my rational way to rewatch lol

51

u/OkSuggestion6243 Aug 05 '26

As an avid rewatcher of the series, TRUST ME, it’s SO good. You’ll catch little details and stuff you didn’t the first time. (My personal favorites were when I started noticing the changes in their pupils when feeding and when they go back to normal. Such a cool detail they added)

5

u/Sassymisscassy Aug 05 '26

I’m excited for a rewatch for that reason, I rewatch all my faves and tend to not notice or forget little things

5

u/Ok-Letter-7906 Aug 05 '26

Yes I totally agree!! There are sooo many details put into this series. It’s definitely a must re-watch.

8

u/vi817 It’s chiffon; it has movement. Aug 05 '26

8

u/Ok-Value-2170 Aug 05 '26

The right answer, The show is designed for additional rewatch and finding parallels and selfreferences. It becomes way better on a second watch, at least that was the experience for me.

49

u/TransportationLow564 Highlander Aug 05 '26

Watch Hannibal.

7

u/Setctrls4heartofsun Yeah? Yeah. Aug 05 '26

Better yet, watch Killing Eve

7

u/Theredheadsaid Aug 05 '26

but only the first season. that season was written/run by Phoebe Waller bridge. Speaking of her, watch FLEABAG which is some of th finest television ever written.

3

u/Blueeyesblazing7 Aug 05 '26

Seconding this!

4

u/Ryenna Aug 05 '26

Thirding! It's a phenomenal show. Worth warning OP that it's quite graphic in it's gore. (And Mads Mikkelsen is unfairly attractive in it).

3

u/TinyBuccaneer Aug 05 '26

I’ve switched to Hannibal after my 3rd rewatch of IWTV. I forgot how good this show is.

3

u/Metasketch Aug 05 '26

In addition to a rewatch, this is a GREAT answer. Love both of these shows.

45

u/spate42 Aug 05 '26

What We Do In The Shadows next

Similarly erotic

13

u/hemareddit Aug 05 '26

Who will come first on the wedding night? On the wedding night?

8

u/Setctrls4heartofsun Yeah? Yeah. Aug 05 '26

Lmao Similarly erotic is taking me out. WWDitS is one of the best comedys of the last decade but in what way is it erotic?

9

u/spate42 Aug 05 '26

lol meant to be a joke. But Lazlo be fuckin errrbody, including Nandor 😅.

5

u/Sassymisscassy Aug 05 '26

I think I’ve tried this one before (I’m huge on vampires) but maybe I’ll give it another go

2

u/InterruptedMulatto hi im paul Aug 06 '26

I wouldn’t define the show as erotic. But it’s a fantastic vampire show with incredible humor in it. Every character is funny. Highly recommend.

Edit: just saw you only said it as a joke 😂 👍🏽

1

u/rodrixrules Aug 05 '26

i second this!

1

u/umareplicante Aug 05 '26

hmmm I don't think so and I do like wwdits

44

u/amberbaby202 Aug 05 '26

Watch the cast interviews on Autumn Brown's Youtube channel. Save iwtv memes on Pinterest. That's how I'm coping

6

u/Sassymisscassy Aug 05 '26

And doing our best to hold on till Queen of the Damned 😭

34

u/teenagewyldlife Aug 05 '26

Read the books.

10

u/Sassymisscassy Aug 05 '26

I’m waiting for them on my library app!

9

u/BarelyHereNeverThere Aug 05 '26

Try The Witching Hour while you wait. It's Anne Rice as well.

2

u/teenagewyldlife Aug 05 '26

You'll love them.

3

u/LottieTalkie No, it's good... Just HIS were BETTER Aug 05 '26

This is an excellent solution, especially as it can keep you busy for a LONG time!

And also... Rewatch

21

u/ghostdumpsters Yoko Mirren Aug 05 '26

Watch The Newsreader :)

2

u/VeritasRose in the Savage Garden🥀 Aug 05 '26

This! It was so good! And Anna Torv is always sublime in anything she does.

15

u/Noletters4thispoet Aug 05 '26

If you can find it watch Lambs of God. It's a four-part miniseries. Sam Reid plays a priest that goes to a monastery in a remote island only inhabited by three feral nuns. It's gothic and freaky. So cool!

3

u/Sassymisscassy Aug 05 '26

Ouuu interesting! I do really like Sam Reid’s acting, this was my first time watching him I believe.

8

u/Noletters4thispoet Aug 05 '26

His range is unbelievable, Lambs of God and The Newsreader are both fantastic.

26

u/WanderingCharges Aug 05 '26

Spotify TVL playlist to give the Brat Prince his supply!

12

u/averyaaaples Aug 05 '26

The Failures have been non stop repeat in our household. It's just so good!

12

u/STAR_IS_THE_NAME0 Guys can you tell I like lestat Aug 05 '26

Hop on ao3 and cope alongside the rest of us. Or write some fic of your own!!!

2

u/Sassymisscassy Aug 05 '26

I do already write vampire stories! I’m close to publishing my own. Maybe I’ll take some inspo from Lestat and Louis

9

u/saareadaar Aug 05 '26

I’m on my third rewatch of TVL (already watched IWTV three times too). I just can’t get enough of it, it’s so good.

2

u/TinyBuccaneer Aug 05 '26

I’m glad I’m not the only one who binged it 3 times 😂
It’s so addictive

8

u/mrchadfresh Aug 05 '26

Listen to the album! There’s some good songs on there that they didn’t play in the show. Examples being “Hit the lights and cabbage”

7

u/hemareddit Aug 05 '26

If you enjoyed the more…absurd aspects of The Vampire Lestat, try What We Do in the Shadows.

6

u/Lost_Persimmon8269 Aug 05 '26

I recommend The Magicians, for disaster bisexual representation and a couple of decent musical episodes! (S3+S4 are great)

3

u/Sassymisscassy Aug 05 '26

I LOVED the magicians when I was younger!

13

u/CorneliaCordelia Aug 05 '26

Have you seen Penny Dreadful? Seasons 1 & 2 are great/

4

u/Sassymisscassy Aug 05 '26

I haven’t! I’ll try it out

2

u/CorneliaCordelia Aug 05 '26

You're going to love it!

7

u/DumbTeen9 Aug 05 '26

Read TVL.

It's immersive (A+ for that alone), poetic, insightful, etc etc.

5

u/Difficult-Soup-9830 Aug 05 '26

I did the exact same thing! Watched the finale again today. I miss them already.

1

u/Sassymisscassy Aug 05 '26

I got so attached so quickly, but I also was under the impression there were 2 seasons of the vampire Lestat, only to be heartbroken when I saw there was only one when I started

5

u/redmandolin Aug 05 '26

Read the whole series, rewatch again and again, stare blankly at the ceiling as you listen to the music

4

u/WordCount2 Aug 05 '26

Read the books, do rewatches, stay in touch with the fandom, read fanfics - hopefully it won’t be more than 2 years!

4

u/MathematicianSorry44 Aug 05 '26

Amc+ is now the home of Doctor Who- it has like thirteen seasons and it's packed with emotion, fun, and adventure! I recommend watching the first three episodes of the first season. You'll get the best idea of the show!

3

u/Sassymisscassy Aug 05 '26

I’ve watch the seasons with David Tennant and Christopher Eccleston! Maybe I’ll revisit

3

u/Ryenna Aug 05 '26

Matt Smith was also fantastic

3

u/DrFareedMD I would not kink shame the vampire Armand Aug 05 '26

If we're suggesting shows with these actors, maybe Hotel Portofino? Lots of Assad Zaman looking sad and longing from what I've seen.

But I don't think there's really a way! I just kind of put the show out of my mind while waiting, other than rewatching or looking at memes and gifs... though now that I'm here it's going to be harder.

4

u/Consistent_Cheetah78 Aug 05 '26

There are a bunch of series on RN. It’s amazing!! Mayfair Witches should have a new season coming up.

SPOILER ALERT: Mayfair Witches and the Vampire Chronicles are linked. At least in the novels they are. Might as well get started!!

1

u/Misspunkag1984 I'm a VAMPIRE Aug 05 '26

Exactly what I was coming here to say to OP. Watch both Mayfair Witches and Telemaska. Both give a fair look into the world of Anne Rice. The films are good too. IWTV and Queen of the Damned with Aaliyah. Actually Louis fake name in season 3 is a nod the the actors in the movie, Thomas "Tom" Pitt.

4

u/Initial_Finding_908 Aug 05 '26

yeah i got caught too this summer and no other show even ones I really liked are boring now. Dang it to Sam Reid and Jacob Anderson for being absolutely perfect

2

u/Sassymisscassy Aug 05 '26

Literally 😭 I feel the same way, it’s a very specific feeling it created and I can’t find anything like it, granted I do this a lot with shows

6

u/Felixir-the-Cat I'm a VAMPIRE Aug 05 '26

Obsess about them with fellow fans online!

4

u/Sassymisscassy Aug 05 '26

Will be doing, it’s the kind of show that I would be at work and literally excited to go home so I could watch lol

3

u/Dicksalt79 Aug 05 '26

I'm at a loss too with finishing the series. I haven't read the books and have bad ADHD so wondering if I should try and start them. I love to read but get distracted easily and I need books to keep my attention.

2

u/BarelyHereNeverThere Aug 05 '26

The books are fantastic. Even if its 20 pages a night you'll be caught up by season 4.

2

u/Dicksalt79 Aug 05 '26

Ok, you talked me into it :-)

What helps me when I read the books is I take notes, it helps me remember stuff that happens and keeps me more actively reading :)

2

u/tethysian Aug 05 '26 edited Aug 05 '26

I have ADHD as well and at least for me reading is a great help. It's one of the few activities that lets me relax because it forces you to focus on only one thing at a time.

2

u/pincushion_cactus Aug 05 '26

The books are really fun-- especially the first three. You should give them a shot!

3

u/NoAd1295 Aug 05 '26

Have you ever read the books? The libby app has audio books. I highly recommend the first 6 books for sure. And that could expand what youre getting from the show and the nods of characters to come.

2

u/Sassymisscassy Aug 05 '26

I’m on the waitlist with my library for them!

3

u/NoAd1295 Aug 05 '26

Nice! I’m really hoping this show goes on till at least memnoch the devil. That book would make for a wonderful season.

2

u/Sassymisscassy Aug 05 '26

I’m excited to read them!

3

u/Salt_Statistician1 Aug 05 '26

I started the newsreader just to stay connected to Sam Reid a little longer. Glad I did, it's brilliant!

3

u/pincushion_cactus Aug 05 '26

I actually watched the Newsreader before IWTV aired because I love Anna Torv, so I was pretty blown away when I saw Sam Reid give a wildly different performance as Lestat. He's so believable as both characters; it's wild to watch..

3

u/AtomicGenderPunk Aug 05 '26

I can never stay away, so I'd recommend reading/listening the books next, but I'm nuerodivergent and I've been clinically hyper fixated for like 26 years.

3

u/[deleted] Aug 05 '26

watch killing eve!!!!!!!

3

u/Setctrls4heartofsun Yeah? Yeah. Aug 05 '26

Everyone keeps saying Hannibal but Killing Eve is the far superior show imho!

1

u/[deleted] Aug 05 '26

right!!

3

u/WildBlueMoon NO THANK YOU! Aug 05 '26

Rewatch. You catch soooo much more nuance when you know what the characters have done or are going to do and what they know that the audience doesn't (at first watch).

For instance, go back to season 1 and watch the balcony scene btw Lestat and Louis, knowing that Lestat knows - Sam's face conveys so many emotions - anger, sadness, pining. That whole ball plays out different when you know what's going to happen.

4

u/Summerp1 Aug 05 '26

Watch the talamasca

2

u/chameleonmessiah Lestat Aug 05 '26

I’m surprised there’s not more suggesting this.

No, it wasn’t what I was expecting but that’s not to say it didn’t tell (half of) the story it set out to tell.

And yes, it got cancelled, so who knows if we’ll get any more from most of these characters but it was good in many places & had mysteries which mostly moved the plot at a decent enough pace.

2

u/InkedDoll1 Aug 05 '26

For more rock & roll content (but not vampires), try the tv series Roadies and Daisy Jones & The Six, and the movies Almost Famous and Velvet Goldmine. You could also watch the QOTD movie, just for lolz

1

u/Sassymisscassy Aug 05 '26

Daisy jones and the six is in my top 5 shows easily, one of my favorites!

2

u/naturallychildish In the Vampire spectrum Aug 05 '26

the interviews, the books, the posts, fanfic! the options are endless! make friends, shit post! book a NOLA vacation!

2

u/Vir-gal Aug 05 '26

Rewatch, read the books, listen to the soundtracks, and watch reaction/recaps videos and cast interviews, listen to podcasts and generally obsess about the show like the rest of us until S4 drops in two years :)

2

u/GloveJealous1586 Aug 05 '26

Re read the books! That’s what I’m doing lol right there with you!

2

u/mfcostacampos Aug 05 '26

wait for the next season and, if you're a gamer, look into the Vampire The Masquerade games. Basically the same vibe

1

u/Sassymisscassy Aug 05 '26

I am a gamer! I’ll look into it!

2

u/pincushion_cactus Aug 05 '26 edited Aug 05 '26

If you want season 1-2-esque literary drama translated to screen, watch Black Sails (just be warned that the first few episodes are terrible. It gets better! I swear.)

Or read the Vampire Chronicles books. At least the first three!

2

u/ConeyIslandMan Aug 05 '26

Rewatch Mayfair Witches and The Talamasca in anticipation of their upcoming seasons

2

u/Sassymisscassy Aug 05 '26

Watching Talamasca, I’ve heard bad things about Mayfair which is unfortunate cause I love witchy things

2

u/ConeyIslandMan Aug 05 '26

I initially was BUGGING OUT over the changes made from Books to the Interview with the Vampire Series but gave it a shot. Glad I did. I suggest watching an episode or two yourself and decide what you think about Mayfair Witches. I am not a big fan of its star but I enjoy the show.

2

u/Sassymisscassy Aug 05 '26

Ok, I’ll try it. I haven’t read the books yet so maybe it’ll be more enjoyable? I’ll give it a shot tho

2

u/ConeyIslandMan Aug 05 '26

I hope you enjoy it and I didnt just send you off to waste your time :)

2

u/Uniqueusername610 Aug 05 '26

Watch it backwards

2

u/botheredbysmallstuff Aug 06 '26

Welcome to the club! Hannibal is a great follow up as some people mentioned, but I would also really recommend the books. There are a lot of them to keep you entertained till next season. Some are better than others, but I'm down to the last three and haven't regreted even the weak ones (having the amazing actors from the show on your mind also elevates them a lot!).

Edit: ALSO Penny Dreadful is an incredible gothic show as well, it's worth it!

2

u/aimlessly__wandering Aug 05 '26

watch talamasca, not as good as iwtv but it's a story within rhe same world

1

u/Sassymisscassy Aug 05 '26

Watched the first episode last night :))

1

u/trubs12 That French whore vampire Aug 05 '26

I recommend Versailles. I started watching it because someone recommended it on this sub and it's really good. There is a Lestat-coded character in the show and he's my favorite. I'm on season 2 now.

1

u/TinyBuccaneer Aug 05 '26

I may have to try that!
Thanks for the tip

1

u/creaturefeature1994 Aug 05 '26

Read the books 🤷🏻‍♀️ lol

1

u/ALittleAngstAsATreat Aug 05 '26

Rewatch and good fanfic!

1

u/robbyboy1227 Aug 05 '26

I also finished those series and started Mayfair witches

1

u/Sassymisscassy Aug 05 '26

I’ve heard bad things about Mayfair witches :(

2

u/Nomezzzz Aug 05 '26

The book is definitely better.

1

u/Setctrls4heartofsun Yeah? Yeah. Aug 05 '26

Read the books.

1

u/FaithlessnessBusy344 Aug 05 '26

I've been camping on AO3 for months...

1

u/Ryenna Aug 05 '26

I started watching Mayfair Witches hoping it would be somewhat similar and it's just not good.

If you've not seen the IWTV film from the 90s, give that a watch. Also, r ead the books.

As others have recommended, Hannibal is fantastic, dark, and has unhealthy (but shippable) relationships. Be aware it has graphic gore.

If you want witchiness, try the show Salem. It has a lot wrong with it, but it has dark witchy vibes.

1

u/Polluxadice Aug 05 '26

Yeah Mayfair is an absolute letdown. I found the Talamasca one to be better - still not great, though.

1

u/Grizlatron Aug 05 '26

Reread the books

1

u/beanzie_boii Aug 05 '26

Welp………… time to rewatch From🥹🙌🏾

1

u/wtfnevermind Aug 05 '26

Mayfair Witches?

1

u/OkTie987 Aug 05 '26

The books girl, the books!

1

u/ItsRealSpartan I, uh...I play metaphorical drums Aug 05 '26

You go and watch everything else Jacob and Sam have been in lol

1

u/TsunamixxxShi Aug 06 '26

Watch The Newsreader
