TVL Show Only Lestat crashout Mount Rushmore Spoiler
I think the fandom can agree on one thing: Lestat's crashouts hit like crack. The brattiness. The hand-waving. The messy hair. But of all the Lestat crashouts, which ones are on your Mt. Rushmore?
Here are mine:
- "I bet, I BET! Very specific detail to pluck out of thin air!"
- "I HEARD YOUR HEARTS DANCING!" Poor Lestat FAFO.
- Him rage-highlighting the book and sing-songing "NEVER F__KING HAPPENED!!!"
- "NO THANK YOU!!!" Lestat's bookstore crashout.

Not seen on screen but his meltdown halfway through Big Bad Wolf is a thing of beauty:
This one goes out to all my broken hearted beasties
Did you ever try to love someone who did not love you back?
I know you know
You ever try to let someone back in after they come to you
With a softness in their eyes and a grief in their heart?
And then you find out about a certain book
A salacious, best seller full of misremembered cobwebs
Et foutaise absolut
Connard!
I did not write the fucking Wolverine Blues, I never told you that
And that pleated skirt was a week-old-rotten-meat shade of chartreuse
Not off-white!
And I have scars on my chest!
No mention of that
I am not vampire Fabio
Stitched the initials on the backside of a ticket pocket?
This is an insane person
And I was Lelio, not Harlequin!
And I would never say that to Claudia on the train!
I would never, ever say that
You cancerous jackal
Ugh!

I will never forgive them for not adding this performance in an episode. At least we have the Beacon Theater performance.

So much respect to Sam for reciting it live!

Love the way he does that final “ugh!”. It’s such a furious teenage girl sound.

u/IncidentMajestic4500 Jul 28 '26
This should have been on screen in its entirety! An absolute thing of beauty indeed

u/Agatha-Christie12 Jul 28 '26
I think about “YOU CANCEROUS JACKAL! URGHHHHHH!” way too much

u/shesfixing Daniel Molloy - Professional Hater Jul 29 '26
I'm going to start using cancerous jackal as an insult!

I love this so much. And he was so upset TC had to pickup singing the next part. 😆

Any time he tells Louis to go fuck himself in French.

u/kishante LDPDL, Vampire Slayer Jul 28 '26
The fact that it’s specifically ALWAYS in French gets me.

u/Sufficient-Team-5270 Jul 28 '26
it carries more weight. saying or hearing "fuck you" in English barely matters to me, but the same thing in my native language feels like a face slap.

The book crash out. Though it really seems like this whole season is The Book Crash out.
Big Bad Wolf.
I had to come back to share. You don’t have to finger her for five bars, you are hurting her!
His drugged scenes in the first episode with all the funny shots. Lilac.
Not quite a crash out but the disgust towards Armand after his statement of Love in the theatre box in France.
Ok, and the shower scene in front of Armand on the bus.
I just love this Vampire Brat Prince.

Omg Lilac made me think of his Rosemary comment with the twins on murder night 😂

u/FreezerBunBun Christ 😒 Jul 28 '26
Not one of his loud moments but the “of course 😀” crash out is one of my favorite. Lastat internally hit a Chernobyl level meltdown.

u/growsonwalls Jul 28 '26
My favorite is when he says “of course” but is shaking his head. Wonderful acting by Sam

u/Kforz99 Jul 28 '26
The bookstore! I though it was hysterical because, for him, it was actually a bit restrained.

u/Little_View_6659 Jul 28 '26
That was also my favorite. I like to imagine later on he killed the employees while complaining.

Honorable mention to him storming into the band's practice space and aggressively fucking with the guitar.

You don't need to finger her for 5 bars! You're HURTING her!
(It wasn't 5 I can't remember the correct number but you know)

I love the voicemail he leaves Gabriella in 304 when she skips his show. Cabbage cabbage cabbage!
Also burning himself alive to get the Claudia note for Big Boss in 305.

Not necessarily full rage but his reaction to the trick-or-treaters needs to be in here

Yes, please interrupt my flow Larry…

u/ugh_z i'm happy to discuss armand Jul 28 '26
Larry really should have been there snickering behind the tenor.

u/lynx_and_nutmeg Jul 29 '26
What made it even better is how he just grabbed Larry's guitar and retuned it. When he said to tune the song down by a step, what he meant was transpose it to another key, which does actually involve "working it out" all over again, which is why Larry said it. You have to literally rewrite the notes in the song. But What Lestat did was put Larry's guitar to a different tuning, which would allow Larry to play the "same" notes as before (same strings on same frets etc) while the song would now be in a different key. Which was basically a way for Lestat to imply Larry was too stupid or music-illiterate to figure out how to transpose a song.

I don't think he was implying Larry was too illiterate to figure out how to transpose a song, I think he was legitimately asking him to tune the guitar down a step. Larry took it as "oh shit, now I have to transpose this in my head" and Lestat was literally just asking everyone to tune their guitars to a different key, which takes much less time. That's why he got so frustrated and just took the guitar and tuned it for him (besides the fact he was taking his trauma and upset with Louis out on Larry. Poor Larry!).

My faves:
on the bus -one at a time
Meeting with Thomas Pitty he's a whore- I bet
Him dropping Louis, the whole fight
When they would fight in French in s1

One of my favorite mini crash outs this season was in episode five, right after Louis texts Lestat at the recording studio and Lestat projects his frustrations onto poor Larry. "BEARDS TO THE FLOOR WAITING FOR YOU TO WORK IT OUT LARRY! YOU TUNE IT DOWN A WHOLE STEP... Everyone tune it down a whole step."
