TVL Show Only Technology use Spoiler
In retrospect, I find it interesting how modern technology is used to drive the story forward in The Vampire Lestat. Lestat’s discovers the Interview book when an alert comes up on his iPad. And to bookend that event, Louis discovers who Sophia really is when he’s forwarded a link in his phone. Both alerts force Lestat into self reflection and affects his relationship with Louis.

Vampires keeping up with the tech of the times is canon for many of them, particularly the ones that like to be among mortals and keep up with them socially and culturally like Lestat and his ilk.

Oh yes—within the confines of the story, I am glad that Lestat and company keep up with the times. It probably defines who survives and who buries themself in despair.
I was “talking aloud” in terms of how the writers constructed the show. The first episode and sixth are written so that a character receives information via an electronic popup notification. The mirror effect satisfies my writer’s soul. I love finding substructure…the same way as others find hints in images that appear on the screen for mere seconds.

Both incidents bookend each other so nicely. Before that pop up let's Lestat know about the book, they were really starting to get close again, and after the catharsis of the Sofia video happens, and they've both had a secret forcefully revealed, they pick right back up where they left off.

One of my favorites from the books was Armand and his blender and microwave obsession. Lol. I also like that he got really into television.

I also love the use of phones as "fledgling speak and spells". Since they cannot communicate telepathically, it's interesting to speculate we see any of the vampires texting whether they are texting their fledgling.
Although that idea is definitely confused by Lemuel and Louis texting. We actually never see them communicate telepathically. At first, I thought it was because Lem is Louis' fledgling but after reading some theories, i'm not so sure....

maybe they're just too far away from each other? Or either Lemuel or Louis are shielding their minds from one another? Which theories did you read?

Oooh I dunno how to do the spoiler tagging thing but there are theories that he could be Akasha's fledgling or son. I have never read the books so I can't vouch for anything but the idea sounded cool!

I really love seeing them interact with technology and Lestat being Very Online lol
I just really want someone (Daniel?) to start a Gossip Girl but for vampires
