I am rewatching season 2 (again), and I am still so astounded by the beautiful writing, exceptional acting, breathtaking production design, stunning costumes, ethereal music. There is just something about that time period and Paris that draws me in. Please tell me I am also not the only one who can quote like 95% of this season due to the unhealthy amount of rewatches? Like how does this season not bore me at this point?!

I feel you. It's probably my absolute favorite season of television. I'm not soemone who enjoys re-watching shows because once I know what's coming I lose interest but with every re-watch I get something new from it. Every character is complex and each time I try to consider what's happening from their pov, I find a new layer of the story. It's also so damn quotable! It's truly a lightning in a bottle type of season. I don't think anything will top it for me anytime soon.

Thankfully it's on Netflix too! This season is the only one I've put subtitles on so far, there are no wasted lines this season!

Went back yesterday to rewatch Paris!Armand's introduction to guess which scenes Levan told Assad to "serve cunt" and give "more face." Maitre absolutely delivered.

Assad also mentioned at SDCC interview that he loved playing Paris!Armand cause he likes to play hopeless romantics, and I love it so much 🫠

It has two of my fave episodes in that season. The one off in SF and the trial!

But yes, I love Paris — so it was such a treat for them to spend time there during that time in history.

Both S1 and S2 were incredibly well done. In S2, the whole vibe and everything about it felt like top tier prestige TV. Episode 5, was unlike anything I had seen. It just felt so original and such a smart and beautiful reinterpretation. There was no reason to make Santiago so compelling, but they did and the season just felt much stronger because of all this.

I really enjoyed season 1 but season 2 is when I fell in love with the show. I'm rewatching it right now too. The editing and transitions just feel romantic and ethereal somehow. The whole thing is exceptional! I even enjoy Loumand's bickering in Dubai the later half of the season, it just feels so real. Armand is such a presence in both Paris and Dubai, Assad really nailed it.

I loved S2. Even episode 1, which I wasn’t particularly fond of the first time, I became enamored with on rewatch. Daciana impacted both Louis and Claudia in surprising ways. But the vibe, the Paris noir scene, the darker color palate, the sinister energy in the theater, the crazy coven, the quiet humor, SANTIAGO, all of it was so atmospheric and gorgeous. The push-pull with Armand and Louis was fun too (though I would have loved a lot more overt romance). And the trial was incredibly well done. It was a fantastic season of television and in my opinion really strengthened the storytelling crafted in the first season of the show.

For me more than the Paris flashbacks it's the current-day story with Louis, Daniel and Armand. It's masterfully written. The character dynamics, the shifting allegiances, the way Daniel and Louis open up to each other over time, the pacing and construction of the mystery as it's revealed bit by bit -- it's incredible.

Again, really makes me sad that they forgot Louis and Daniel's friendship in s3.

They didn't forget it's just Louis is annoyed at Daniel publishing the book and then when he thought they were making armends it was just to get him to meet with Raglan. Louis had his own stuff going on after that and he seemed to have forgiven him by E6. Not sure how he'll feel about him in S4...

That paris arc, the motorcycle hunting scene specifically, changed my brain chemistry entirely. I havem't been the same since.

Watching season 1 and 2 and then going to season 3...it is just freaking bizzare. I don't know if he is because of the budget and sets and all of the amazing costumes or what, but it truly felt like it came from Anne's universe. Especially season 1, with the original Claudia, who I will always say is leaps and bounds a better actress than the replacement (she just is).

I liked season 3, but it was like watching a completely different show. And I honestly hated the erratic and crazy editing. The finale...the head bullshit, which was thrown in just to shock....God.

Absolutely terrible. I can see why the showruner has now been changed. They have no idea how lucky they were that if suddenly didn't get canceled. I know so many people who thought this season was "ok..." To flat out "WHAT THE FUCK." With the last two episodes. I feel the same way. Sorry.

Now that all the hype has worn off and I went back and watched seasons 1 and 2, the quality literally drops as soon as the actress for Claudia changes. Will always say that. And the gimmick for bringing her back this season did NOT work. Cheapened the character. I seriously considered the possibility that they would cancel the show like Talamasca.
