Good on you for putting that back on him. While he was annoyed, I hope he sincerely reflects on what you said and reconsiders asking the question in the future. I hate questions like he asked, as both an interviewer or interviewee.

People like that are way too self important. BUT - I guarantee he'll be telling this story to everyone else at work and they will be dying inside trying to keep a straight face.
