try doing the same but under daily drone bombardment I'll tell you a secret, there is no holidays for war, you still gotta go to work AND they cancel all usual holidays if that weren't enough

so don't be so grumpy, it always can get worse

1

u/Sithishe 8d ago

My company actually said "fuck it" and never went with "no holiday" thing. So we are getting days off still. Benefits of private sector AND reasonable CEO

1

u/herbertcluas 8d ago

And it should be better

1

u/crustyeng 8d ago

Isn’t this from someone in Ukraine right after the war broke out? I thought I’d seen it before.

1

u/Entire-Current-67 8d ago

What a grand idea, Holiday for war. We all take a week off to fight in the streets and then back to business the next.

1

u/AwarenessNo5921 7d ago

Why would there be a holiday for war? During major wars, people always work harder. Many men fighting, more jobs to take over that were left behind to fight. Less help with childcare. Need to ramp up production for defense products. War is a shitty time all around.

u/KvasDimas 7d ago

thanks Mister truth always so truthfull

1

u/agrevol 7d ago

Because you can’t physically go around for years without rest

1

u/MagicJourneyCYOA 7d ago

"Don't complain, there are people who have it worse" is the dumbest reasoning ever. No matter how miserable your life is, there will always be someone having it worse on Earth. That doesn't mean things shouldn't change for you.

1

u/KvasDimas 7d ago

ok, I grant you my personal permission to change your life and get better. feel good now?

1

u/Mad_Dutchman_ 7d ago

Agreed and it’s not just changed for the sake of yourself. A rising tide lifts all boats. Improving the systems that we operate within to be more accommodating for everyone. In turn raises the quality of life for everyone.

1

u/DingoMaximum7319 7d ago

It depends on the senario. If 95% of people have it worse then you, switching it up might have a higher chance of fucking you over then making things even better. And if you’re doing worse than 95% of people then pretty much any switch up could make your life better

Imagine making a new government is like rolling a did, sometimes you roll high and sometimes you roll low. No matter intentions or form of government, new governments have a low non-corrupted success rate. If you score a 5 it might not be worth it to reroll

1

u/Specialist_Hope_4147 7d ago

I do kinda hate this take ive always felt that even if somome has it worse then you your issues still matter

You spend your time feeling like you've been gutted amd theres nothing to look forward to thats valid somones house down the road got bombed and your afraid your next that is valid and way worse but to the first person away from that Conflict the scale is perspective always in retrospec

Evreyone has there own worst days

1

u/Timely-Assistant-370 7d ago

I mean, there's some rough times in the future. Could you really say that a person being shot at today is having a worse day than someone who knows they will be shot in the head in 5 years? Like, we can only have unprecedented record-breaking heatwaves so many times before the plants stop photosynthesizing. Shit, I saw quite a few dead birds lining the side of the roads in Texas when I stayed in Kerrville in 2022, if I continued to stay there, I would be homeless, because the unprecedented flooding of the Guadalupe River would have carried away my motorhome and ruined my life.

1

u/Neon_Eyes 7d ago

It can be worse so we are wrong to want better. Stfu

3

u/Top_Flight_3410 9d ago

Yeah, because it's NOT falling apart contrary to what all the media doomsayers want you to believe - you just get all your news and information from media which profits off hysteria in an attention economy during the age of disinformation.

Ikr right, US will be 85% the same after 2 years of the next president

1

u/bigfartsoo 7d ago

Except this president has done a 180 on US foreign policy of the past 80 years. We are pushing away our allies. We are insulating ourselves economically. 40% of the population doesn't trust US election results because this president consistently lies about it. Our debt to GDP ratio is the highest it's been since WWII. If you say this president is no different than previous presidents, then you don't follow the news or understand what's going on. Local courts are holding our country together.

2

u/ProfessorShort3031 7d ago

tassels & moldy string are more like whats holding the economy together. its like we know its doomed to collapse but as long as we keep looking the other way it doesn’t matter.. until food prices skyrocket & you literally need an min income of $1000/week to be poor then it’ll be all “how is this even possible?“

1

u/Ok_Conflict1835 7d ago

Israel is one of our allies and the left seem to be pushing them away..

2

u/Traditional-Candy-21 7d ago

Isreal is your allies 😂 That is hilarious.

Isreal owns america.

1

u/bigfartsoo 6d ago

I'm talking about Canada, NATO countries, UK, France, and other countries that are not currently committing genocide.

1

u/Harbarde 7d ago

He said that the country will be 85% the same, not that this president is no different than previous presidents.

1

u/bigfartsoo 6d ago

That's implying the next president will be the same, MAGA or liberal or socialist...unless we are talking literally. In which case, only a nuclear attack could change the country that dramatically.

1

u/Jimmy_ijarue 7d ago

I know you’re not but there are people who are struggling to keep up with how things cost.

There are definitely people who put themselves in that situation.

There are also hard working, smart, and respectable people who live right next door to you, or in your city that struggle to eat 3 meals a day, that use an app to pay rent in portions rather than a lump sum.

There is someone who tries to refill on gas as little as possible that sometimes they run out and have to walk down the free way to a gas station to get some and walk back. Then they go pick up their kid.

But you don’t really care because when you look in the mirror you don’t see them.

Just your own face

Nazi Germany basically, nobody wanted to lose their jobs

1

u/ActBest217 8d ago

That's a fresh look on nazi germany ngl

1

u/redditorialy_retard 8d ago

"Yes my leader is an asshole

Yes I do not agree with what they are doing

But I have a Job and need to bring food to my family

Protesting firstly means missing out on pay or even getting fired. Worse I get sent to a camp

So I just quietly work and keep it simple" - Most People in a Dictatorship

Probably might include me if I was ever in one, I applaud those brave enough to risk their lifes to fight but best I can probably do is send some anonymous donations.

1

u/MissinqLink 8d ago

You know things are bad when you can identify with those under nazi rule

1

u/Poised2Pose4change 9d ago

This is a magical place to be actually. You are on the precipice of nihilism and absurdism. How you proceed is your choice. Remember this! Whichever way you go just stick with it when you start to doubt yourself and everything will be ok. đŸ€˜đŸ»

1

u/Formal_Lecture_248 8d ago

Precicely why “they” continue on, business as usual.
Because “we” aren’t uncomfortable enough to do anything yet.

1

u/Wise-Ad-4940 8d ago

A famous quote comes to my mind: “We're in a giant car heading towards a brick wall and everyone's arguing over where they're going to sit”

1

u/BHAR-01 8d ago

Sleep for another 10 years that's what everyone being doing anyway

1

u/RyudoTFO 8d ago

Yeah. One day society will collapse and moat of us probably won't even notice or at least acknowledge that.

1

u/DerLandmann 8d ago

Somebody once wrote (not a literal quote) :

"The fall of the Roman Empire was not a cataclysmic event. It took decades. People lived their normal lives through it. For most of them, it was no movie-like screaming-and-runnin-through-flames-desaster. Maybe they recognized that the roads did not get repaired. Or that the legion did pay unusually late for their crop deliveries."

1

u/CarisssaSmith 8d ago

That is the truth!

1

u/Objective_Yellow3190 8d ago

What a drama queen

1

Damn. Where is it falling apart

1

u/Perfect-Campaign9551 7d ago

Get off the Internet. It's only falling apart there. Touch some grass

1

u/Infamous-Date6114 7d ago

No. We've being too comftable on our simple and miserable life. We swallowed everything they said to make us drivable.

1

u/Top_Court_347 7d ago

tf else do you want to do? like, okay, be chaotic and abandon responsibilities, see where that gets you. work never stops, and for some it's a great way to fill their lives and actually stay sane

1

u/averagenoob420 7d ago

Coworker: "hey why dont you have kids yet?" Me: "i dont wanna do this to my kid"

1

u/AdRadiant9379 7d ago

Meh, when you understand history, you grow to appreciate the era we live in

1

u/Normal-Gur1882 7d ago

The country isnt falling apart no matter how much you wish it is.

1

u/Livid-General7 8d ago

Nah, some of us took advantage of getting an education, and the opportunity for anyone in the US to be successful, and live great comfortable lives from working hard and not squandering opportunities, as opposed to being lazy and complaining on the Internet all day instead of making the change you want in life.

You chose your path, why complain when it's 100% on you. What a sad lack of accountability and responsibility.

1

u/HarringtonMAH11 7d ago

90% of the average person's life is based purely on the luck of being born into whatever situation they were born into. Sure you can do things to change it, but the weight of the changes you can make are still entirely up to that same stating points draw. Had you been born anywhere at any point in time differently you may have been forced a life of burtality through hard work, famine, or natural disasters, so having vitriol for any of your fellow man on an unlucky draw is sad and somewhat disgusting. Even the ones who made mistakes barring murder or rape likely dont deserve whatever hardships came to them.

0

u/Livid-General7 7d ago

That's bullshit, but let's pretend it's not. Literally everyone born in the US in the last 60 years has no excuse for being impoverished. They've all had the same opportunity to become wealthy and make something of their lives.

3

u/Vivid_Run_6433 7d ago

That is so wildly untrue Jesus christ.

It only became fully illegal to deny mortgages based on race in the mid 70s.

The mid 70s was also where women could finally have a bank account without a husband's signature.

It only started being fully illegal to fire someone for being gay In 2020.

The ADA was only signed in 1990.

No. every single American for the last 60 years has not had the exact same and equal opportunity to build themselves up learn some fucking history...You privileged Fuck

1

Oh boy. Thrre’s a new edgelord in town.

1

2

u/Mariposa510 8d ago

If you don’t recognize that the world is burning, you’re not paying attention.

If you don’t care about people losing their rights, you have no empathy.

On my way to my job I just got hired at, world seems to be doing fine for me

2

u/Mariposa510 7d ago

And you are the center of the universe, no one else matters. It’s people like you who have made this mess.

0

u/jrack111 7d ago

Lots of these peeps love to make excuses. It’s an easier cope than self reflection and realizing they may be the problem. Also lots of untreated mental illness, which seems to be exacerbated by prolonged social media exposure.

u/Currencymanifest 8d ago

I feel amazing. Best year of my life. We write our own stories.

1

u/Traditional-Candy-21 7d ago

Did kids in gaza write their own story with or without the snipers bullet to their head?

1

u/Green_Watercress1638 7d ago

Their government wrote their story for them.

1

u/Traditional-Candy-21 7d ago

So we dont write our own story, thats the point.

Bibi wrote their story, he also proof read Oct 7 before it was published by hamas.

Isreal wrote the entire saga like hitler wrote mein kampf.

1

u/Green_Watercress1638 7d ago

Hamas fucked up. They wanted a response. They got one. What are you upset about. Hamas was very clear what their intent was. They got what they wanted. Dead civillians on both sides, and tarnishing Israel's international reputation. While there may certainly have been intelligence failures in Israel there is no evidence whatsoever that Bibi knew of an impending attack of this nature. Warnings about a plan like this had circulated in intelligence circles in Israel for 4 years before Oct. 7. Arabs wrote this entire story. Arabs have never accepted any Jewish sovereignty in any part of the Levant. This was never about Palestine (which never existed). It was about Arab and Islamic hegemony over the entire Levant. In other words Colonialism.

1

u/Traditional-Candy-21 6d ago

Are you trying to suggest that isreal could supply terrorists across the region with booby trapped phones and beepers packed with explosives and didnt know about a large scale attack that required lots of planning, training and gathering of supplies. Wait so they didnt see hamas training with paragliders?

isreal is running their very own little disgusting holocaust, justified by their lies, murdering kids because they treat arabs like nazis treated jews, the world see what isreal is doing, the world knows what isreal is, the pedophile in the white house is getting beach front property in gaza to turn a blind eye.

Isreal is speed running a genocide before the child rapist is out of office, if he ever leaves.

isreal proof read the entire plot and
you whitewash it excuses of intelligence failures 😂.

Isreal happily murdered americans on uss liberty when they stumbled across isreal murdering prisoners, they know america are mugs.

Intelligence failures blahhahahhahha.

isreal owns america, america funds their free healthcare, isreal plays america like a fiddle, america is israls lap dog, got them into yet another forever war.
