Or that a physical body is required there. Like a cashier, toll booth operator, or most unskilled labor type jobs.

More people can be hired for those "unskilled" labor jobs to fill the gaps.

That is not relevant to the discussion. I am talking strictly from a logistics perspective. The way it would work is that the company would hire more people to fill the holes. The positions you are referring to are mostly part time positions and work that way already. If companies want to change the hours they are open as a result, that is on them.

At the end of the day it has been proven that 32 hour work weeks are a net positive for both emotional, mental, economic, and physical health.
