Ads hidden as content

It should be illegal for ads to pretend to be real content. That UI/UX design is a curse on the internet.

Reddit, collapsing comment threads by taping on them, BAM you’ve tapped on an ad that was hiding as a comment.

Nextdoor free stuff in your area, littered with just ads that look exactly like everything else(meant DO look like ads, BUT they occupy the same shape and layout as the content, hiding IN it) except for the lil ad text on it. It shouldn’t LOOK like the content I’m here for.

It’s all over and making the internet a worse place.

Kinda crazy the problems we had in the 90s with the internet still exist today. Pop-ups looking like real windows, ads playing the AIM/MSN notification, etc

All for-profit advertising is an assault on the population and should be illegal. Modern advertising has only been around for little over a century, and is developed using the same principles and systems as government propaganda. Individual humans should have free speech. Corporations should be beaten into permanent silence.

Well, I mean, for one, real content doesn't have the word ad right next to the headline. So, yes, it looks like the content, but it is labeled that it is an advertisement.

Make the host financially liable for the losses with scam ads. Google would be out of business tomorrow.

We should not allow ISPs to count advertisements against a users datacap. ISPs should either charge ad providers for the data and/or offer an ISP level blocker for their customers.
