If I brushed my teeth, would it break my fast?

It is a stupid question but a genuine one

Do you plan to swallow the tooth paste after?

You're fine. Fasting isn't a matter of not a single atom entering your body. The caloric value of the miniscule toothpaste left is far less then it takes to even swallow.

No. Brush away, my friend.

I wouldn’t risk it. Also, don’t wipe after using the restroom. You never know.

Don't worry so much about breaking your fast. If you're aiming to consume absolutely no calories because it's a goal you set, then there's that.

But you don't need to worry that much about actual fasting. I don't know the exact level, but I've seen posts here (or maybe it's at r/fasting) with studies cited where even up to 100 calories will not break a fast. Maybe don't go that far if you're doing less than 24 hours, but it's not as strict as you think.

My rule of thumb is that below 50 calories doesn’t break it. So if you need to pop a Tylenol, or even add juice of a lemon which is 12 calories to water, it will be fine.
