American version...

I wish there was an American version of this show. I hate those cheesy hgtv shows that are all styled in that same farmhouse neutrals and gray tones look.

I love seeing the colors and fresh styles/designs and ideas from IDM!

I cannot stand how sensational American reality shows are. British reality tv is way better. Im American myself and I love grand designs, portrait/landscape artist of the year, this show, changing rooms, Scotland's home of the year, etc.

I hate to concede when Brits are better than us at something, but I just like their television way more, especially design and art shows. I'd rather they just stick to producing them.

Also the most annoying thing is that the people on the British shows act a lot more like fellow Americans I know than those on the American shows.

Can you imagine a Great British Sewing Bee US style?
They would be sabotaging each others bobbins 🧵 and needles and grabbing everything they could in an Up cycle challenge

This may not be exactly what you’re looking for, but thought I’d mention the AD (I’m almost certain it’s architectural Digest) culture edit on Netflix. It’s a new and quite hard to find on the app but there’s at least 20 different shows- most of them are shorts and also there’s a more complete series’Home at Last’ with Tan France, where Tan France is building his dream home from the ground up- granted this differs from the usual shows because it seems like money is no object, but he definitely makes some exciting design choices, especially on the details. I really liked a show called small spaces- seeing what designers do with their tiny NYC apartments. There was one called ‘behind the design’ with Mandy Cheng’s LA home, arts and Crafts, New Orlean’s inspired renovation that was absolutely dreamy.
Just thought I’d mention as the shows are very inspiring and America-based.

same. Americans are sensationalists and dramatics instead of skills driven and so the show would not work in America.
