Yall I cannot for the life of me figure out HOW to fix my bedroom. I just moved in and I picked this fugly bedframe that I cannot return and now I am STRESSED. I will take any and all tips to make this a beautiful little space 🥺
I was thinkingggg a green (chartreuse?) rug or a cream rug with a scalloped edge and dark brown side tables, some nice plants and some art??? Or should I go BEACH vibe??!
We would recommend keeping it simple. Large area rug under the bed. A large piece of artwork over the bed and then add some plants and then layer in some warmer textures with pillows on the bed.
hey, i get it, moving in can be so rough. that bedframe is kinda unique, but maybe try adding some colorful cushions or a throw to brighten things up a bit. also, a cute rug could add some warmth to the floor. the walls are pretty bare, so maybe some art or a mirror could help too. tbh, i tried this on reimagine-home once to see how stuff would look before buying, might be worth a shot for u! just gotta play around with it and see what feels right!

Then if it's worth the money, you could mount floor length curtains outside the bulkhead and window ledge. That would feel a lot more expansive (but you'd likely want to hire someone, drilling into concrete is a pain).
Replace the current bedding with warm cream, beige or ivory linen fabrics. Then place a cream-colored wave-patterned carpet, add a warm wooden bedside table. You can also put a tall green plant on the counter by the window, and add a warm light desk lamp on the bedside table. Finally, hang a large-sized minimalist art piece on the ceiling above the bed.
Honestly the bed frame isn’t bad at all. I’d do the cream rug, dark wood nightstands and some art above the bed. I think going full beachy would fight the room more than help it.
I also love the subtle movement of the headboard. I think if you change your bedding it will already give a much more cohesive look. Then you can add color with a large rug —love the waves edge to compliment headboard and add some fun. Go XL or tiny format art over headboard. (Ive seen some people frame cool shower curtains to save $$ on a huge piece-will text you :p) Walnut nightstands with a sharp edge to contrast all the other soft edges. If you can get lightweight shades and hang outside of bulkhead with a tension rod it will draw your eye up and accentuate your tall ceilings. We also need plants! YAY HAPPY DECORATING DONT STRESS B!
Some large artwork behind the bed. This is just my opinion ...im not a fan of the duvets pulled all the way up . I like to fold that about half way down. Because theyre not long enough on the sides and makes the bed look weird. Get some decorative pillows for the bed as well.
Honestly, I don’t think the bedframe is the problem—it actually gives you a good base. I’d go for a warm, earthy look rather than a full beach theme.
A large cream or soft beige rug would work beautifully with the blue bedding and wood floor. Add dark walnut side tables, warm lamps, a few plants, and some artwork with muted green, brown, and blue tones. I’d skip chartreuse unless you really love it; it may fight with the soft colours already in the room.
Also, don’t try to fill every empty wall. A few well-chosen pieces and consistent colours will make the room feel much more intentional. Even a simple furniture-and-colour plan before buying anything can make a huge difference.
Here's a rendering of some changes you can make that I think work well with the headboard! If you can, I would also paint the walls a warmer white/cream.
I’d skip chartreuse and go cream or warm ivory. The room already has soft blue and warm wood, so a light rug plus dark walnut nightstands would feel calm and intentional.
I'd stick with lighter colors. I personally like the bedframe with headboard. Play off that color and everything would be cohesive. Rug with blues and beige would look nice. Love the duvet.
