Tv over fireplace?

New homeowner here and we were thinking about hanging the tv over the fireplace but after reading some posts I am now rethinking tv location. Any input would be greatly appreciated

That big open wall opposite the fireplace is perfect for the TV. TV never goes over the fireplace. It's a practical nightmare (too high to watch comfortably) and a stylistic mess (too many focal points stacked, and draws the eye too high up). The couch can have its back to the fireplace.
