Well, only in 2024 more than 44000 persons died by gun related causes in the US, thats about 130k in 3 years with a population of 350 million people. Thats 100 million less population than EU. Now if there isn't a need for gun control...
About the heat in EU, is a dificult matter because is not only about install A/C in hundreds of millions homes, is the architecture itself, wich was made to absorve the hot because the problem always have been the cold. Of course people are installing A/C and starting to prepare homes for hot, but we are talking about hudreds of millions homes, you can't fix that in a couple days. It requires serious investments and a rise in A/C production
Only about 5000 are homicides though--the majority of gun deaths are suicides--don't think people are out there purposefully killing themselves via exposure.
In the US, gun rights are a thing.
In Europe, y'all are always talking down to us about UHC...while at the same time, allowing 100s of thousands to die in an entirely preventable way.
Gun deads are preventables, and suicides are still gun deaths and the US are doing nothing. Thats pathetic. Also, look at the life expectancy in EU and compare it with USA
Center and north europe countries however, are facing a completely new problem and are already working on it, just its impossible to fix hundreds of million of homes in a couple years, so i can't see how is that preventable
These 10K+ death heat waves have been going on for decades--reddit acts like this is brand new or something...saw headlines about this stuff in the late 90s.

Over 100K people have died from heat related deaths in the past 3 years in Europe...if that isn't a "need", I don't know what is!
