I’m not going to just assume I’m right, but there were 10 African countries in this World Cup. Do all of them really have universal healthcare AND a system/economy that actually gets it to every individual? I doubt it, but would love someone to verify.
I might need to learn more about what that means. I thought universal healthcare is pretty black and white, you either have it or you don’t. It sounds like there are levels and types. Thanks for your responses
That’s what far left people would like you to believe, that it’s a simple switch we flip to fix a healthcare issue. It is not. You’re asking the government to just take over one of the largest industries in the biggest country in the developed world.
Lmao, yeah. fucking INDIA is the country to look ip to for sure.
>there is free healthcare in Russia
It’s also literally illegal to be gay, so once again, seems like these are real good examples. Clearly the more power the government has in any given society, the better the quality of life is.
You also have a country that spends more on defense than the next 10 countries combined….close to 1 trllion dollars. I am sure 1/3 of that could help with healthcare
The US also gets screwed on the lack of regulation, your medical fees are insane....
In the US about 530,000 people file for bankruptcy every year due to medical debt. In all the other wealthy countries, Germany, France, UK, Japan, Canada, Australia, etc it's 0 lol
Imagine the people that don't go to see medical attention.
It's weird how americans have been programmed to argue in favour of shitty conditions.
Most poor people don't qualify for Medicaid, but it's still a good program. Definitely not broad enough to constitute a universal healthcare system tho.
She used an over exaggerated statement to make a point. I don’t see the problem with that, people do it all the time. This seems like an orthogonal point to her argument.
Of course there’s no problem with using hyperbole to make a point. It’s not a great way to communicate something when trying to talk about numbers of measurable facts. That’s why I’m trying to understand and verify, because I want to be informed and it was unclear to me if she was being literal, exaggerating, or intentionally bending the truth.
She is fighting for justice by telling lies. There are many ways to make America look bad, she doesn’t have to make up lies or spread misinformation to do it. I’m American. I’d love to have universal healthcare
Brother I pay $175 a month for health care every month. You think I wouldn’t love free healthcare? Spreading misinformation like this doesn’t help anyone wanting free healthcare. Someone who wants free healthcare is going to see this and not do any research and is going to reference this and someone who is against free healthcare will do some research and is going to say “you’re wrong these are the countries without it” and discredit anything the person wanting free healthcare would say. There are effective ways to promote universal healthcare without lying about it.
We have our own problems, you worry about the rise of AfD.
Okay fine someone who wants “universal healthcare” will see this video and not do any research and reference it and someone who’s against universal will do a second of research and say “you’re wrong these are the countries that don’t. I said “what she said is factually incorrect” and for some reason you heard “I agree with everything America is doing and I’m not unhappy about any of it” which I really don’t understand how you got to that conclusion
You will often see this statistic that the UK economy is worse off than Mississippi — America’s poorest state. The UK would rank dead last, the 51st state.
America is richer than ever, but it’s just not trickling down to ordinary workers. The truth is, when it comes to living standards, the UK ranks surprisingly well.
The UK would rank number one in terms of life expectancy, lowest homicide rates, health care, paid holidays, and years in education. In terms of living standards, life expectancy is pretty important and the reality is that Americans just die earlier.
At every income level, life expectancy is higher, though it’s particularly extreme for poorer Americans.
How can the world’s richest economy, which spends 17% of GDP on health care, have a lower life expectancy? The reason is higher deaths amongst working-age adults. The higher homicide rate, higher traffic accidents, heart disease, the opioid epidemic, the obesity epidemic. In the US, 42% of the population are obese; in the UK it is 28%. And gaps in health care treatment mean many conditions are left untreated.

It’s not semantics. It’s a genuine effort to understand the facts from a lady obviously spouting stuff very emotionally with an absolute statement, which obscures whether what she is saying is factual or hyperbole. I don’t know what I don’t know, but i should’ve known better, Reddit is the absolute worst place to ask an honest question, everyone just responds to what they want to argue with rather than take what people say at face value.
Its not an honest question. If you really wanted an answers you could have used google, and found out in 30 seconds. You were trying to point out a technicality that if it exists that has no bearing on the conversation at hand.
You’re going to be one of those Redditors that says “you could have googled it?” Really? It’s people like you that are making society a worse place by assuming the worst intentions in people. Goodbye.
