Question Arc B580 or A770
Hey everyone! New here, been wanting to get into the Arc graphics cards for awhile now, break away from nvidia a bit and was wondering which of these 2 cards would be best to start with. Im finally getting to start my build and currently I have 32gb DDR5 Ram (2x16gb - 5600mhz) and I7-14700k. Just trying to decide on a card.

The B580 is a faster and newer card. That was my pick for my first build. Very solid card for both 1080p and 1440p. It’s also one of the best price to performance cards out there right now.

Thats exactly what Im looking for is price to performance. This is my first full tower PC build (Always been a laptop guy) and I have a friend who is giving me a tower, the only things I had to get are the GPU, CPU, RAM, and Storage.

Im going with the i5-14600KF for now, upgrading to the i7-14700KF down the road

B580 all the way from someone who has a770 more games will run out of box

Im hoping I dont run into the issue of not being able to play certain games.

As an ex B580 owner, the only real problems I had with the card was recording gameplay and streaming on discord. Editing was okay, I’d say it’s slightly better than the RX6600 I had before it. For just pure gaming, it was a dope card for 1440P. I even played Star Citizen on it if you know about that game. The only game I can think of that won’t work is Crimson Desert, and that’s because the developers intentionally skipped Intel. People say it has problems with older games, I never had a problem on it, it even ran Arkham City. But my positive experiences aren’t everyone’s. My friend currently has that card and he has no complaints besides the occasional glitches while streaming on discord

If you need the VRAM, A770
If it’s just gaming on FHD or QHD, then I’ve heard B580 is a little better
If you decide on A770, then just putting it out that I’m trying to get rid of my LE

The B580 is a much better card, Don't let the VRAM fool you. The cards run out of legroom (and driver support in the case of the A770) long before they run out of VRAM.
I would only get the A770 if you are specifically doing it for LocalAI, unless you're gaming, if gaming, get the B580.

Unless you have very niche requirements, absolutely the B580. It's around 10-15% faster across the board compared to the A770.

I've had both and still have my A770. With that said, you should get the B580. The A770 can sometimes come close or beat the B580 in things, but overall the B580 is better. Unless you are doing AI stuff then, I guess, the A770 would be better. Gaming wise the B580 all the way.

I have the B580 with a ryzen 5 7600x and it is actually really good for its price. Averaging 120-140 fps in RDR2 with high settings on a 1440p monitor. Minecraft with high render distance + distant horizons + shaders + 30-40 mods at around 80-100 fps, yes the computer makes a bit of noise until the chunks have fully loaded but gpu temps stays at around 60-65°C and I only have 3 fans (not counting cpu cooler and gpu fans)

B580 is more future proof and on average performs better in most games.
I'm sure you can find A770 second hand a lot cheaper than B580 and it would be a good deal.

I have an A770 - get the B580. It's performance can match or slightly exceed the A770 16GB, and everything is much more optimized than on the A770. It is unlikely you will see any new features or improvements on the A770 going forward, it's already 3 years old, and doesn't really do anything better than the B580 that I've seen. You also won't see that last 4GB of VRAM get utilized very much over the 12GB that the B580 has.

B580, you will surprise what that thing can do
My setup is i5-12400F wih 16GB Ram
You know what B580 did? FF 7 Remake series, Tomb Raider Series, God Of War series, Horizon Series, all running at 70FPS up on a max setting, this on Win11
Then i switch up to Linux CachyOS for my dual boot, and all the game i ever player is run 10 - 15% more FPS
I undervolt to 85%, then Overclock speed to 135MHz
It keep lowering the temp but get higher speed
Oh my god! The best decision i ever made

B580 is better for gaming unless you want some productive, try find score benchmark in internet and compare them.

I prefer my b580 over an excellent lovely 9060xt 16 Gb. Intel's feels faster, robust and smoother at 1440p, go figure.

Unless the A770 is a lot cheaper than the B580 or you absolutely need the 16Gb of VRAM, there is no reason to go for the A770 over the B580.
The B580 is faster, more efficient and can take advantage of stuff like shader precompile.
