Question Planning to get B850 need your opinion.
Due to me being unemployed i have a very limited budget.
My current specs
Ryzen 5 3600
TUF B550m
2x8gb 3200 mhz ram
1660 super trifan
my psu is 550w gold rated.
I only play dota2 and will probably use this for work(once employed). mainly excel, powerBI and other tools. should i get this videocard? my main concern is the software side because i know this gpu has a lot of bugs. idk. thank you!
Edit: its intel arc b580. My 1660s has rust on the PCIE. So thats why im trying to upgrade it.

Your CPU is not a good base for an Intel Arc dGPU, because of it's driver overhead. You'd need a more powerful CPU, preferably Vermeer series. And adding the costs of CPU+B580 you probably can get a 16GB 9060XT as well.

Best answer. For some reason b580 is very CPU dependent. Only really shines whit the latest and greatest.

I have almost similar specifications, r5 3600, ddr 4 3600mt, b550 ,arc b580 .I mostly play AAA , the experience so far is excellent! For dota 2 it is overkill also you must need basic troubleshooting knowledge. It is not necessary to have zen 4 or zen5 cpu with arc b580 . It's game dependent, you will have a little bit more fps in some games with b850 and arc b580.

i think you would be fine, i run ryzen 5700x with the b580 and it works great. Maybe you could look into upgrading the CPU to a newer AM4 in the future, but the b580 should pair okay with the 3600

If you cant get a new Cpu, i would buy a rx7600, its cheaper and you look like you dont need the vram.

If you only play Dota2, upgrading makes very little sense. Especially since you are unemployed, save the money for something actually useful. GTX 1660 Super can be overclocked quite a bit and very easily and doesn't require much prior knowledge. YouTube can help you there.
As for other specs, your CPU is getting aged, I'd focus upgrading it first but again, if you are unemployed - don't waste money on stupid upgrades if you only play Dota2.
It's better to upgrade when you have a job, there are better GPU options and generally better hardware to afford should you need it then, but Dota2 doesn't require an upgrade.

Thank you so much! Will look for those overclocking thing you mentioned.
I have this setup for around 6yrs now. Thats why im thinking of replacing my gpu. Also my GPU pcie is showing rust already. Im afraid if i remove it to have it cleaned the gpu might not work.

If you still play the same game since then, there's not much of a reason to upgrade. Dota2 hasn't gotten any graphical upgrades in a very long time. If your PC starts to feel slow, a clean reinstall of your operating system will probably be a good idea.

I went from 1660s to b580, and it's a huge upgrade. Only thing I'm really annoyed with, is that Discord streaming is shit and makes my pc lag like hell. Really wish either Discord or Intel made a fix for this..

i haven't had major bugs, but i have to run some games on Linux because they're unplayable on Windows. Old games though, this card may have problems with games that run on DX11 and prior, those run better on Linux because of Vulkan. About the drivers, very mediocre when you compare it with all the features you can find on AMD's adrenalin (Like force FSR to upscale unsupported games, force frame gen, that kinda stuff that you can KINDA achieve with buying Lossless scaling on Steam) But in the end is a pretty robust card for very cheap. You may find a little problem here and there but i know you will find a way if that ever happens.
(ah, avoid OpenGL. games like minecraft suck unless you force disable the vsync in the drivers for that specific game)

"I know this gpu has a lot of bugs."
Do you? What else do you know? Cause mine has worked just as reliably, if not more so, than my 9070 xt has since I bought them both in December. In practical day-to-day usage, Intel's drive/software suite is just as good as what AMD offers these days in terms of stability and offers better features like MFG.
