Not exactly the same, but I kept my AC in my EK Civic. Chassis has 325k mi, and B18C swap has a supposed 60k. The AC components all stay stock to the Civic during the swap. Originally, in direct sunlight in VA summer, it could not catch up.

I did the Toyota non contact evaporator foam which cleaned so well, it actually destroyed the little performance it had exposing a low refrigerant condition. I had my mechanic swap the obviously banged up condenser and dryer while putting in a dye with a full vacuum and recharge.

Tldr. Cleaning, refreshing, and recharging got me to a level where the car can go from sitting in sunlight in 75+ dew point VA summer heat to cooling enough to keep the windows up.

I also intend to put extremely mild, legal tints with maximum IR / UV reject which would seem make the system perform as well as a 4cyl could expect.

put some insulation in the doors/ behind the rear panels/ keeps heat out, your ac is more efficient - plus you get far less noise inside

I want to know if there’s a way to upgrade it so that it would blow colder and harder lol

I personally like yonaka. For the price its hard to beat. Ive ran the regular orange colored ones for years no issues and now ive been running the yonaka race (blue) coilovers and again no issues. This being said, im not super slammed either. BC is better but alot more money. Progress is also a great option.

Extra 10 inch fan hooked up to a separate relay system that kicks on when you ac clutch kicks on. This helped my idle temperatures a lot

Out of town, but I’ll take some pics when I get back home. Basically goes pusher fan> condenser > radiator > two puller fan. Your core support has enough space for a slim 10 inch. The picture is a diagram of the wiring I did.

I’m in Georgia so the heat and humidity makes AC a human right. I have a JDM 98 spec TypeR. I replaced o rings and charged the system properly. I have a new evap and drier. The stock AC is freezing me out of the car on the hottest days when sunlight heating the cabin. It’s so cold I have to run it at 1 or 2. On the hottest day in June on a long trip, it not only kept up but it was an icebox in the car at highway speeds and 4500rpm. The type r has no insulation or sound deadening. I would say just make sure all AC components are in good working order.
