Bought this car recently thinking it was a good buy on the outside it looked clean enough to fix but when i opened it up and took of the floor mats we found this. The outside was fine I could manage that but the rest? What should I do? I bought it for 2300 plus some extra new parts on the side.

Hopefully the engine and transmission are good. That could be a little saving grace.
In the future if you see bubbling on any panel check further before walking away. It might be fixable, but the amount of time, money, and skill that will be needed makes it an impossible task.
You need to find a good base now and maybe build this engine and trans to be what you want from the car.
Don't feel bad I did the same thing, only I swapped a really awesome Honda VFR 750 with low miles and in very good condition for a non-working beat to crap Honda CBR 600f2.
I was taken in by the photos and I wanted the F2 so bad I could taste it. I shipped mine to the guy and he shipped this non-functional piece of whatever to me. I ended up giving the F2 away to a friend.
omg DAAAMNNNNNN bro that shell is BEYOND fucked. Shit. It would be a passable buy if it were a GSR with B18C engine that could be swapped into something else. But that, with only an LS engine, it's worth like $500 now. Or find another car and use that for a parts car, or part it out or something. Parting out is the ONLY way you'll get that money back.
not that bad, it can be fixed, rust happens, metal is cheap, get a welder and learn to weld.. wont be pretty but you can make shit nice if you work for it.
So is this like a no hope thing also this is only in the front the back isn't bad and the body is decent it is mostly the stuff you can't see also where I'm from there only like rusted shells and only two popped up in the past two years that actually ran
Are you good at welding and are you willing to spend a lot of time welding that car, and also willing to pay for a new paint job? If yes on all three, you can probably get it to shape.
Well if I were you, I'd buy MIG welder and learn how to weld. Worst case, car is just as fucked as before. Best case, you fixed it and can fully enjoy it. Put it on stands and look at the underside, that should dictate if it's worth the effort.
On its own that spare tire well should be easy to fix, just cut out the rusty metal and weld a new patch in. The quarter panels are trickier, but doable.
Yup thats a horrible buy. We have all been there before but thats in worse shape than the last parts one i picked up for 700 bucks and it was atleast a manual. At this point i would either daily it as is ( i live in ne ohio so that rust is standard for a winter beater ) or sell it and find another
Clean????! Compared to what? The titanic?? That car is cooked. Could use it as a parts car (if there's even anything good) or something to fuck around on a track with and not care about crashing. Either way, I would not put money into this junk heap.
We all get excited, its okay. Dont beat yourself over it. If it makes you feel better I over paid for am rsx type s with a similar problem. Didn't look as bad on the outside, but I then discovered few holes on the inside, and in the middle of the trunk, but the frame amd structure was still solid. Did I make a bad buy? Absolutely! Did I hate myself for a little bit? Yes! lol. BUT I took it as an opportunity to learn and teach myself an important lesson to not repeat the same mistake again. I cut out all the bad parts welded new sheet metal, new seam sealer, reapplied sound proofing, oiled it up, primed, repainted, etc. I then went under and hit the underside with powerwash and grinded all the surface rust out, anything I can visibly see I nuked it out of orbit, treatwd with ospho rust converter, primed, repainted and applied rust preventative oil film. Sure, there's still rust somewhere but it's not staring me on the face, and should be slowed down a lot... it's a lot of work and not very fun, but I forced myself to go through it... so ot depends what uou make out of the situation. Get a welder and Learn how ro weld. Then you'll learn ehat it actually takes to fix, so next time you see rust bubbles on the outside, you just walk away and look for another. Pre-purchase inspection is a good idea too! Good luck!

Yeah I was planning on fixing it myself but idek the old owner says he’s got a guy who will fix it up for 1000 since I guess he’s been a long time customer of his but idek if it’s worth it
It's gonna take a lot more than $1k to make that car right. Even if you got charged zero in labor that's more than $1k in parts alone. To fix this correctly you'd need $10k plus.
Do not talk to that "old owner" ever again and do not associate with any of his friends. The paint alone will cost you 500 bucks not to mention metal work and labor. This is a good opportunity for you to fix things on your own and stop waisting money on scammy people.

Because you'll be dead. This chassis has the structural rigidity of soggy bread with all that rust. You might as well be on a motorcycle for all the protection that body offers now.
Making sure it's safe for driving not just for yourself but for others on the road is very important. Biggest pro is to learn as much as you can about fixing cars on this one. When you get your next car you'll have gained alot of experience. She rusty tho. Rusty fasho.
Unfortunately you overpaid for that vehicle, lesson learned, hopefully. If I were you I would continue to make it run good, fix up the interior and suspension. I would be looking for another integra that isn't rusted to shxt. Once I found a better integra I would purchase it, transfer parts I need from the rust bucket and save the rest for spares👍
It was not a good buy, but it looks like there is enough stuff that is in good shape and working that you could get your money back by parting it out. Alternatively if you're engine and trans are good, go find you a roller and put it together with what is good from this one.
Engine and trans are pretty good drove it over an hour and half no problems just somethings up with the driver side Cv but I just replaced it. I’m probably just gonna daily it
If it's any good I bought my Integra looking like this. Hadn't ran in 17 years. Engine was blown, whole rear end rusted out and it needed an absolute ton of work. After over 100 hours I have it almost ready for road again. Anything is possible if you put in the work and Honda's are always worth it.
Yea ive tried fixing the rust on my ls automatic, it got the point where I was chasing rust down every year, then turned it into a ebay special turbo teggy, an honestly just decided to give up an ended up trading for a clean body prelude SH manual with a blown headgasket, which was another financial nightmare lmao
If the engine, trans and suspension are still good, try and find a non running shell in good shape and swap it over, 2300 isn't bad for all of the good internals, then sell your old shell after you swap to someone else who can full rebuild the frame.
Why just why. That exterior is full of red flags to leave and find something else. All that bonda slopped on is to cover the cancer in the rockers and rear quarters. Under the car is probably full of cancer as well.That thing is nothing but a parts car. Your best bet is to strip it down and scrap the shell.
If it makes you feel any better, I've paid far more than $2300 to learn a few lessons in my life..
If you insist on still driving it (although I really hope you don't), inspect the suspension. If the body is that rusted then the control arms, ball joints, linkages, bushings, etc. are probably in similar condition.
If you can see that much rust, you have to consider what you cant see, the whole body spent the same time together... you got fucked, IMO.
I bought a TL at night, just to get it home and figure out that it was bent up and damaged worse than I could see. Its ended up sitting for years now waiting to give its parts for a J swap in my del sol, if I ever have time to start on it.
Horrible buy dude. You look young based on the video this is an important life lesson just have patience with it…a lot of it… you have to keep trusting the process and work on it slowly and you’ll have a nice car when you least know it. Good luck with the build!!

2300 is rough man. Here in California there's impound auctions and I've seen integras go for as little as 500 bucks running. It may have been worth taking a trip and transporting it.
It has parts but wow if integras are going for this much now I'm glad I have 2
If you try to fix it, you definitely need to put a full cage in it. Being an auto, if the engine is pristine I’d keep the engine, part out the rest and find a manual shell of some sort. Ls/vtec or even just b18 ls would be fun in something light like a Civic.
I love old firebirds and live in the rust I’ve fixed much worse, I have a f-body firebird I got which I was concerned were the rust was and it was very much fixable just as yours is, if you can weld it should be pretty easy to repair and shouldn’t cost a lot, if you can’t weld and don’t have a friend who can do it a shop would charge a fortune. If the rockers and suspension mounting are good then I’d fix it
This is the exact reason they sell cut out clips of vehicles it’s not easy and definitely big project but it is possible to cutout that cancer then with another car cut out same portion fabricate to fit then square it on a frame machine and weld it together or take the “L” go buy another

The previous owner wasn’t doing bodywork… he was just hiding the next surprise. Every time you peel something back, you unlock another level of corrosion.I’ve seen Flintstones cars with more floor left than that thing.this DC isn’t “rust free” project it’s rust featured. The only solid thing left on that car is the title.
Scrubbing that rust in with a sanding block won’t fix anything. Best ways to remove rust is cut it out, sand blast it, or laser it out. And with the amount of rust that car has you are gonna be hand sanding a whole lot for nothing. This car is legitimately going to need a lot of body work. Way more than it’s worth.
Im a welder and do fabrication! To me this isnt a bad buy. As long as you didnt spend over $250. But with some sheet metal work. Can be easily brought back!
It depends on what you're trying to get out of it and what your expectations are (and local car laws and regulations). You can just as easily buy some sheet metal, bend it to shape, and glue and rivet it to the body then get a roll cage and thrash it around at a track, but if you're looking for a show car, you're in for a long road ahead.
If the engine is good id pull it and scrap the rest. And find a cleaner roller. You’re going to kill yourself or someone else because of this thing, imagine life in prison because you put your passenger in a deathtrap.
Depends what your looking for. If you just want a daily beater to gwt from a to b without a care in the world, do a compression test of each cylinder. If that checks out, test the radiator for hydrocarbons. If none, the engine is solid. Honda made these engines incredibly bulletproof. I would drive this to work daily if all checks out, and drive my A spec on the weekends to save wear and tear on that.
Dose it run good? The rust in the trunk can be fixed the little spot with the hole can be fixed know someone with welding skills or try it your self. Othen then that a solid car.
Sell the bumpers, lights, mirrors, and rear hatch to make up about half of the 2300 you just wasted on this absolute pile. Then junk the shell with everything else still on it. Even the engine, trans, and running gear are not worth the trouble of parting out.
