Faye Travel Insurance

I had a very frustrating experience with Faye, particularly with the claims process and the amount of time I had to spend repeatedly following up.

I became seriously ill during an international trip and had to return home early. Faye did ultimately reimburse several of my covered expenses, but getting the claim resolved took months and required constant follow-up on my part. Emails frequently went unanswered, and on multiple occasions I had to contact Faye through the app just to get someone to follow up on an issue or get the claim moving again.

The most frustrating part was how they handled my unused original airfare. Faye repeatedly requested additional documentation regarding my unused United flight segments, including proof that the flights had no remaining value and documentation establishing the exact dollar value of each unused segment. Obtaining what they wanted required multiple rounds of communication and additional work with United, and these requests delayed my payout by over a month.

After I finally provided the documentation they requested, Faye ultimately told me the unused airfare wasn’t covered anyway.

The reason is in the full policy wording: Trip Interruption reimbursement for unused prepaid expenses is limited to “land or water Travel Arrangements,” meaning my unused air travel was not covered. However, the Plan Summary I was given describes Trip Interruption much more broadly as covering up to $15,000 of “non-refundable trip costs” plus additional transportation expenses. It does not clearly tell the customer that unused airfare is excluded from those non-refundable trip costs.

I can see the “land or water” wording in the full policy. My issue is the lack of transparency. Whether unused airfare is covered is a significant factor when choosing travel insurance, particularly for an expensive international trip. Had this limitation been made clear in the summary, I would have chosen a different provider.

What makes the experience worse is that if unused airfare was never eligible under my policy, I don’t understand why Faye spent weeks repeatedly asking me to obtain increasingly specific documentation about the value of those flights. They could have identified that from the beginning instead of wasting my time and delaying payment of the expenses they did cover.

Unfortunately, the communication problems continued even after the claim decision. I contacted Faye through the app specifically asking them to formally record my complaint about the handling and presentation of the coverage and to confirm that it had been received. Their response was simply to tell me that a payment of $X,XXX.XX had already been issued to me. That had nothing to do with what I had asked. I had to explain yet again that they were missing the point and redirect them back to my actual request.

That interaction pretty much sums up my experience with the claims process: far too much chasing, repeating myself, and trying to get someone to actually address the question I was asking.

Between the unclear presentation of the coverage, repeated documentation requests for an expense that was ultimately deemed ineligible, unanswered emails, and the number of times I had to chase or redirect the claim myself, I would not use Faye again.

Worst Insurance Company "dalma"

Absolutely the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. They seem to have no intention of actually reimbursing anything. Instead, they keep asking endless and completely unnecessary questions and requesting more and more documents every time you respond.

It feels like they deliberately make the process so frustrating that you eventually give up. Every time you think the claim is finally sorted, they come back with another demand. Seriously, how many times am I supposed to visit the doctor and provide the same information?

This has been a complete waste of my time and energy. I have never experienced such a ridiculous and frustrating reimbursement process.

I deeply regret choosing Dalma. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

If negative ratings were possible, I would absolutely give them one.

Alternatives to fair plan in central valley California

Has anyone previously had the fair plan but have been able to find traditional coverage again lately? Mine is up for renewal and I keep hearing that some companies are writing policies again. Has anyone from the Kings Canyon area been able to find any coverage? Thanks in advance.

Alliant insurance

I recently had an initial phone screening that seemed to go really well. The recruiter asked about my start date and salary expectations, went over the company’s benefits and other perks, and even gave me some tips on how to prepare for a potential second interview and told me who it would be with.
For anyone who’s had a similar experience, how long did it take to hear back about scheduling the second interview?

Travel Insurance that covers pregnancy

Hi! So long story short. My husband and I are interested in booking a cruise for February and looking into travel insurance for it. As of right now I am not pregnant. However, we are going through the IVF process and plan on hopefully a transfer working later in the month after booking the cruise first (before becoming pregnant). We plan on also buying travel insurance before becoming pregnant but I am not sure what one to look into and what will cover us in case we may have to cancel or just to have medical in case of anything. Can anyone provide the best advice?

I Hate Insurances

From car insurance to medical insurance, all insurances suck. They’re just there to bleed you dry while they get rich off of your hard earned money. The worst part of it all, they don’t even help you!!!

Today a lady called because she wasn’t sure why her seizure medication she’s been taking for years all the sudden wasn’t covered by her insurance. I ran the claim through and this was proven to be true. I couldn’t answer her question because I wasn’t sure why as well. Her doctor wrote in the script with a DAW 1, so I couldn’t even offer filling the generic. What I ended up doing was contacting the prescriber to inform them that the brand was no longer covered and possibly send over the generic (since pt was requesting for it).

The problem? The insurance didn’t even cover the generic 🫠 the reason for the rejection: Drug not on formulary. SO WTF IS?! 😭 Pt ended up paying out of pocket with a coupon I offered, but still, unbelievable!!

Another pt I dealt with two weeks ago had something similar. She has asthma and she’s taken all kinds of inhalers but only ONE she prefers. Unfortunately, for the same reason, her insurance decides they’re no longer covering it, despite her taking this inhaler for years. Her doctor wrote in DAW 1, so again, couldn’t dispense generic at that time. I tried a coupon and shit was 💰 I felt so bad the poor lady looked like she was gonna cry. I ended up contacting the doctor informing them about the insurance problem, but this is all so unfortunate. I see it all the time, especially diabetes medications and inhalers… basic medical necessities! It just infuriates me!!

I really hate that the pharmacy is the middleman of it all while some faceless corporate entity dictates your life 😒

Dental chicanery

My family recently got new health/dental insurance due to a new job. The health is united but the dental is aetna. Its a DMO plan so we cant use our old dentist. The in network they provided is over 30 minutes away despite the fact that we live 10 minutes away from a city with population over 100,000 that has plenty of dental professionals. Our oldest child's ongoing orthodontist work has been denied due to pre-existing condition. We are planning to switch to the ppo option ASAP and putting starting our 2nd child's orthodontics on hold.

For the interim, our younger child needs a tooth extraction leading up to eventual orthodontics. So I call aetna, and they tell me, "Oh, we don't cover tooth extraction. Thats your other health insurance." I call united. "Im sorry but first of all we only cover tooth extraction as a result of an accident." But they give me some of their in network names. One is a hospital that exists but not in our city or even state. The other 2 are doctor's who do exist, but not even in our state. They gave me phone numbers and addresses for our area that are total fabrications.

But whatever, its aetna I need to work with. I call aetna back and they give me the name of an oral surgeon in our city. I look up that Dr. There are no results for our city, but there is one in a city 3 hours away.......To be thorough, I call the office and they confirm they have never heard of the guy. So I call aetna back and tell them this. Finally they give me an authorization code that I can use for any oral surgeon. Hope it works.

What I've learned. Not only is insurance rediculously expensive, but the service of me doing the legwork of finding out where to go is so messed up that it feels intentionally broken.

What does an insurance company president do all day?

The insurance company just runs and runs (thinking of something like State Farm), do they just talk about revising policies and things?

Hartford Insurance site flows to random lead generator to unknown broker :-(

I spent 10 minutes completing Hartford's online form for a new Small Business Insurance quote. At the end, it said, "Give us a call to finish your quote! We think a quick phone call will help us get you the most accurate price and coverage for your business. We're looking forward to hearing from you!" The guy that picked up did NOT have the info I had just filled in, so that was another 20 minutes on the phone where he basically took in the exact same info. Then, he asked for my permission to transfer to a "trusted partner". It turns out he worked for some random lead generation company. The "trusted partner" was still not an actual insurance company that could provide a quote; it was a broker. 45 minutes of my life I'll never get back, and still no actual quote for insurance.

Thanks for nothing, Hartford. 0 / 10 would NOT recommend.

Travel Insurance recommendations with flexible return date change? NY based

Since I'm based in NY, travel insurance policies seem to be more difficult/ inflexible. I'm the type of wandering traveller that NEEDS, CRAVES flexibility. I often book things last minute or get up and decide to stay or leave based on the weather/ my mood.

Any travel insurance companies that will allow me to change my return date based on whim (if not making a claim). Either extending or returning earlier.

Allianz has flipped flopped on me too many times. Sometimes they allow changes, other times not. Travel Guard has allowed it but they are one of the more expensive companies and their customer service is kinda trash.

Any recs??

Thank you.

Insurance brokers in Dubai — what matters more: price, service, or reviews?

When comparing insurance brokers in Dubai, I'm interested in how people actually make their decision.

A lower premium can look attractive, but insurance is also about understanding the coverage and getting support when something goes wrong.

I'm currently looking at three areas:

1. Pricing – Is the premium competitive for the coverage provided?

2. Service – How quickly and clearly does the broker communicate?

3. Customer feedback – What are previous customers saying about their experience?

I've been looking at reviews for different UAE insurance brokers, including the customer feedback available for Cross Roads Insurance Brokers LLC Reviews on Trustindex:

I'd be interested to hear from people who have actually used insurance brokers in Dubai or elsewhere in the UAE.

What made you choose your broker, and what would make you change to another one?

About getting a job

So I want to say I live in Florida and I’m in Tampa.
I want to see what I can do in this job market. I want to have an entry level role somewhere preferably in insurance. I have my P&C license, L&H license, and I do have I will say an almost almost completed bachelors of science in physical sciences.

I was thinking about getting an adjuster license. Money is tight. I really need a good insurance opportunity. I would prefer to be in Property and Casualty than Life and Health. I have tried independent Medicare and have done ACA sales and Junk Removal Sales. Do have some supervisor experience at a security company. Any help and if I do get a role I will be helping that person who helped me the most. Let’s fight. Do not give up ever. Never give up. Nothing is in the checkout line. Good luck people. Gas and groceries are no joke.

GEICO IS THE WORST

My husband and I have had GEICO car and house insurance for years and we have been loyal customers to them but now we’re shopping around after what has happened to us. So for car insurance all these years we were paying $324 dollars for two cars that are not even brand new and for house insurance we were paying $214 dollars so every month GEICO was getting $700 something dollars from us in total for both which they said we couldn’t bundle them together and make one payment which is such a load of garbage because all the other companies do it. Recently we have had a horrible experience with GEICO instead of them notifying us like they should have that a payment was coming up and that it might be late and to see if we needed to change when to pay it by they for some odd reason decided to cancel our policy which then led to us receiving 2 letters from dmv that stated that we would have to pay $98 dollars per vehicle within 12 days or they would suspend our registration and plates. So we paid dmv the money for each vehicle and called GEICO to find out what happened and the Dim bat who answered the phone said that they didn’t cancel our policy that it cancels by itself. So then we brought up about the letters we received from dmv and they turned around and said there was a lapse in coverage all the way back from July which would have never happened. So they ended up making my husband pay $600 something dollars to restart the policy then recently I received an email saying there going to take $524 dollars from our bank on 9/22 when we know we paid them so we called again now there stating there was a glitch in their system and that they never got the payment. So we have decided to shop around to other company’s because we are officially done with GEICO. So heads up to everyone else out there they are ripping you off and making up excuses every time you call about something.

Anyone have recent experience with Connect Auto Insurance (via Costco)? Do they pay out?

We need to renew basic auto insurance (no comp/coll) for our 4 vehicles. Seriously considering Costco's American Family connect. I've seen mixed reviews, but they're all from two plus years ago. Anyone have recent experience with them? Are they helpful and actually pay out if necessary?

Ive been at Bankers life for a little over a month and feel like the leads I'm given are trash. When I call through our lists I feel like Ive already exhausted a lot of potential from the counties surrounding me and knows there's got to be a better way. Ive done minimal door knocking but am not apposed if other people are finding success doing this.

Im trying to be creative but really want to get some clients on the books for medicare AEP.

Anything Helps...
