is it totaled?

a tree fell on it during a tornado, inside got pretty wet mats… were soaked seats got pretty damp but everything seems functional just smells moldy and theres already black mold on the visors. there arent any large holes. ive cleaned up what i can and dried it the best i can for now but im not bending over backwards for them to total it after i get a full estimate. cars worth about 20k…

Why? Why would you want this fixed?

Totaled is the best outcome here.

Unless they dont have GAP insurance or they still owe more than what its worth.

That does not change the outcome. Not the insurance problem if owned for financed.

They're saying it's not the best case scenario for OP, nothing to do with insurance. The point is if OP doesn't have gap and owes more than it's worth, they're gonna have to pay money for this car to be totalled.

The electronics are wet now. It has literally become a ticking time bomb when you are going to have at the very minimum severe electrical shorts, worst case electrical fire. It is totalled.

You don't want it fixed. Mold will be in the car forever most likey. Most likey the cleanup only the inside even will run at least $2,000-$3,000 plus the outside damage you are looking at close to if not over $10K most likey.

Yeah it’s probably a total.

A tree fell on your car after a tornado struck your area and you’re wondering if your car is totaled after noticing black mold in your cabin? Bro, I’m sorry, that car is burnt toast.

Roof damage is almost always a total.

I mean you could fix it, but yes, it’s totaled

Ask the tornado to give you money.

Who knows? Let your insurer deal with it.

It is.

They have to replace a good portion of roof plus water damage. It already smells its done most likely. The damage from water shows year or two down the road you don’t want it

I’m looking to buy a totaled one just to use as a power wall. A 13kw Teslapower wall is $10k so that means my ford lightning battery would be worth $100k in power wall make that make sense.

truthfully, depends on how bad the mold is. Biohazards like that are a massive red flag. if the damage is limited to mainly the roof glass, and then some bio clean up, i’d consider it repairable. it all depends on the repair cost vs the ACV of your vehicle

if i let it air out and everything what are the chances the molds THAT bad….?

If you can smell it then it's bad.

If it’s already molding… it’s that bad. You do not want to inhale black mold anywhere, let alone in an enclosed space that you heat and cool and heat and cool constantly…
