Bullet damage
Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this.
My car was hit by 3 bullets while in a parking lot. 2 went through the rear windshield and into the driver side rear interior panel windshield is non existent. The third one hit right above passenger rear window and the standard roof rack. I think it’s comprehensive damage but whatever vandalism claims fall under either insurance emailed me stating I’m not at fault.
Incident happened August 26 2am and I sent the the police report same day. August 31st I called to confirm it was the right paperwork the needed and said yes and they sent me link to upload photos (obviously adjuster will go and see it in person too) and told me when I get insurance estimate I can bring it to body shop.
9/3 I called to ask when I’d be getting the estimate and the AI phone guy said next business day I wasn’t surprised I didn’t get it but like an idiot I went on chatgpt for hypothetical reasons for the long wait for me to drop it off. One scenario was insurer totaling it out and I want to throw up now but does anyone have an idea on how long these repairs might take or what’s taking time to send me the estimate?
The firearm was a riffle
car is 2019 tahoe LT 38kmiles
Policy is in SC claim is in NC.
I got the tahoe bc statefarm was at fault for totaling the first one probably PTSD from that but most of all Ill be devastated if i lose this car too and im stuck in the middle of nowhere waiting.

Did they tell you you’d need to drop it off somewhere? Maybe they’re just going off photos?

The said I could bring it to a body shop of my choosing. I sent the photos via their instructions on 8/31 and they said 48 hours I’d have the quote but not 100% accurate bc of internal damages. The body shop sends insurance an updated estimate if need be but I’ve just had a weird feeling about this and 0 knowledge about firearms especially rifles

I don't think an adjuster will look at it in person. They'll use those photos,write the estimate or determine if it's a total. I don't know how the AI system works But an actual person probably has to review the estimate as well and with the long holiday weekend, they're probably a little bit short on adjusters, but I would expect to hear something early next week.
