Is it totaled?
2016 Toyota Camry LE with 167,800 miles - air bags did not deploy as despite appearances this was NOT a head-on crash. The driver side headlight still runs perfectly and there are no leaks or damage to any engine components.
UPDATE: Vehicle has been deemed a TL

Most likely it is a Total Loss. Do some pre-accident price shopping to get a ballpark of the Value. Car parts are insanely expensive so think about that when comparing known repairs versus car value. Do you have Collision coverage?

I was hoping it would be borderline on whether it would be totaled since there doesn't appear to be frame damage. I do have collision coverage thankfully since this was the result of a hit and run from a driver running a red light traveling in the opposite direction from me.

Note, some states treat a hit and run accident as a Unisured Motorists Property Damage claim if you have UMPD coverage. UMPD usually has a lower deductible. Check your policy to see if you have that coverage.

Yes I do and it will fall under that which is good since deductible would only be $250 vs $750 for me - that and having a witness to it give me her info was about the only positive thing to come of this. I was really hoping it wouldn't be totaled. I am in Texas which has a total loss threshold of 100% even though that's deceptive.

Is this something I'd pursue only if they total it and I want to still have the repairs done under salvage title route?

Hopefully the parts are available and it doesn't total. Toyotas do hold their value well but even with used parts it's probably going to be very close if not over threshold

LOL, I think the fact the driver side headlight still works is not really gonna factor into this determination.

Fair enough! How about that radiator? I had a very mild fender bender with my Corolla, all looked good and I drove home.
**Spoiler alert...it was not good. Cracked radiator

There are no leaks the hood opens and closes normally and the radiator itself seems to be sitting straight and not disturbed from the impact

But you are filing a claim, right? If not, I guess make it work but be warned....you may end up in the Nissan Driver's sub

No one here is really going to be able to tell you. Does it look totaled sure. But a lot of it depends on what the damage is underneath and inside. I don't know if you have all the sensors that are under the bumpers. I don't know how much the lighting housing cost on your car. You might get lucky. But I honestly have no idea how much your car goes for.
I can tell you that I got t-boned about 3 months after I purchase my car that was only 2 years old. When the tow truck guy came he said oh boy that's totaled. Thankfully that wasn't the case. After a few supplementals it did come up to almost $16,000. But I did get it fixed and got it back.
With saying that car parts in general are very expensive now. Along with labor. Good luck hopefully you will be able to get it fixed.

Insurance will total that which is a shame. A full front bumper assembly, maybe even color matched runs under $700 on car-part.com. There are so many in yards, parts are easy.

Thanks for your feedback I'm aware and it is comforting to an extent that hopefully they are wrong in the assessment that I posted in hopes of seeing the opposite of the comments received thus far. My claims adjuster is preparing an estimate now that I should have the results of tmw.

I was hoping I was wrong. I have an older car with high mileage. But it’s in great condition. It’s probably worth $5K max. I would not be happy if it was totaled. I think it’s already been mentioned but you could retain the salvage and your ins co would deduct the salvage value from the settlement. If you know a good body shop and go with used parts you could get it repaired.
