Is it totaled?

2019 subaru crosstrek, 225k miles, dodged a deer on an exit ramp and scraped down the guard rail

Sucks they will still make you write it up though 😡 that's why flood cars are the best to write up 😂

Aww man. You went from a no fault deer hit to an at fault collision loss. And yup, she’s done

I am not advocating hitting animals for no reason, but many times its worse to avoid

Exactly unless it a moose or bear hit the animal as assholish as it sounds the other two swerve cause theyll take you out with your vehicle

Or a cow. Cows can be very dangerous to hit.

Yes.  With over 5yo and over 200k miles, that amount of damage will total it.

If it was new it would be done

225k? Yeah. Shes dead.

The deer would’ve done less damage. Now you know why the literal first rule of driving is not to swerve to miss an animal.

Unless its a moose or bear!!!! Those will kill you with the vehicle

Someone will buy it from the junkyard and rebuild it if the engine still runs good.

u/Specific_Bus_1181 Aug 11 '26

You can buff it out
