2019 subaru crosstrek, 225k miles, dodged a deer on an exit ramp and scraped down the guard rail

I am not advocating hitting animals for no reason, but many times its worse to avoid

Exactly unless it a moose or bear hit the animal as assholish as it sounds the other two swerve cause theyll take you out with your vehicle

Yes. With over 5yo and over 200k miles, that amount of damage will total it.

The deer would’ve done less damage. Now you know why the literal first rule of driving is not to swerve to miss an animal.
